My Boogie Knights must have partied too much after their OL win. The best I can say so far this young season is they have managed to string together 3 one game winning streaks...

Shame is I found two helpful players in the auction house this morning. One was outrageously priced the other had an opening bid that I would consider the most I'd go for with a ridiculous BN price tag. I was going to bid one point over but the auction had another 1 day + left. I don't like tying up points like that so management decided to stay status quo. Season ticket holders are outraged.

Boppers opened a few packs today and got a diamond Len Barker, who will add another strong stuff-heavy arm to the bullpen. Rick Rhoden, despite his good start to the season, has been sent to the guillotine.

It's been a good day in Magusland, long may it last.

OL Schedule for S287

Some of these games have been played. OOTP did its usual crappy job in sorting the OL teams. In fact, they stuck both Daytona Beach and Asylum in divisions alone, yielding only 49 games for Asylum, and 52 for Daytona Beach. The Washington Base Stealers have the coolest schedule - they play every OL team except the two red-headed stepchildren. With OL making up 60% of the league, each team should get 96-98 OL games. It cannot be too hard to seed the league by evenly dividing the friends list teams first, and then filling in the other teams, especially when they make up as large a portion of the league as OL does. I think the friends list was a great idea, but I guess it didn't get a second look after it was begun. I guess that's the way it is, though, with a small staff, so I'll end my whining now. I do appreciate the ice cream cone OOTP gave us with the friends list. I just wish that some of us didn't have to scrape off the ants each season.

Cheers to your good fortune! I opened around 13 packs today, nothing to note. My OL team has the worst card luck of my three teams by far.

In other news, I have been scouting the market for a new 2B and SS for many weeks. I like none of the options. I might just be cheap as well.

For more of the upper tier PT world, do folks go out of their way to get better guys against RHB? I know there are tons of options that crush LHB, but my team consistently struggles against RHB and I don't think my lineup is that bad. Contact is above 70 for 7 of the 9, with most having solid Avoid K (three below 55, rest above 70).

Hatchets were finally able to unload Future Legend 100 Vlad Jr, so now sitting on a bunch of PP...but really not seeing good options. Wait and see, I guess...

Need Help

Matt Arnold posted that, due to illness and vacations, they haven't been able to post the past few seasons, because they have to be pulled manually.

With that in mind, I need someone was in I263, B218, and G316 in 2035 to go into their history on the PT main page and click on the underlined season number to take a screenshot of the playoff results and post it here. I've attached an example of S273 to show what I need. Thanks.

Against RHP, your 1B, DH, and most of your C, 3B, LF, RF should either be in a platoon or should naturally crush RHP. That means 80+ CON, 80+ GAP/60+ POW, and ideally 60+ EYE. Carew, McCovey, Bottomley, maybe a Dixie Walker type, or more expensive like Special Goose Goslin or Norm Cash are good examples. Also keep in mind that the RvR matchup favors the pitcher, and actually makes their stats better, so lefties and switch hitters get even better than they would otherwise be.

Basically, there's a reason that full lefty is the most popular OL build at high levels.

On the other hand, an all-righty team blows. See Palolo.

Appreciate the tips. Helps explain some of the trends I've seen on the AH and in the sims/team comps.

Bronze 245

Redmond wins all 5 of its OL games and Southside is playing like it has something to prove early on this season. Mudville sees its first action later today when they visit Redmond for a 3 game set.

First Look at OL S296

Quite a few teams off to quick starts. Philadelphia has played all OL games to start the season. Thanks for the help with 2035. Still need G316.

I have started to discount more and more a player's performance against LHP. Not saying I ignore it completely but when evaluating players now I count their batting against righties much more than I do against lefties. It's also really easy to get players who hit lefties, so if you get a guy who can hit right-handed pitching you keep him!

I roughly weigh their stats as 25% vs LHP and 75% vs RHP.

Perfect league update:

Green Lake and Palolo jump out to the early lead, with Victoria running a close third.
