10/5 Veto - Absolute or Not?
The 10/5 rule "allows" players to veto a trade of course.
Will they always veto the trade? Or will the AI factor in other considerations? I know that in real life there could be many, many considerations (on and off the field) for wanting to stay put, but just curious if, for example: - Going from last place team to a contender at the deadline - Going back to home town or state - Going to a team with a real need at their position - Going from a bench player to starter situation (if they want to start) - Hi greed, low loyalty, hi play for a winner, combined with one of more of the above, etc. ...any of that kind of stuff factors in or is it simply 10/5=No trade! |

I've had a player veto a trade to a crap team, but accept a trade to a good one. Maybe it depends on his "desire to win"?

I would like to know and see when their 10/5 starts so I can plan ahead. I have seen it only works for the 2013 season but never has happened since for me and I have had several players I wanted to trade only because they are 10/5 but yet in reality its been 4 1/2 years on my club (traded for this player in middle of season) I figured it as they consider if you get the player in that season the whole season counts as one season with club ... still there is nothing showing the status or even a message.

It would be interesting to know how many 10/5 players get traded IRL and whether it happens in season or not. Jimmy Rollins is the latest I can think of this offseason. Carlos Lee was traded in-season 2012.
