Slow game time

So I'm playing a 40 team league, but with only 3 minor leagues, so it's a total of 160 teams. In the offseason, it takes about 5 seconds to sim a day, which just feels a lot slower than I'm used to with OOTP. It took ~2 hours for me to sim ahead 4 seasons with the sim display set to simple dialogue, which also doesn't feel right (I have season predictions set to 'on demand' and baseball cards turned off, so I'm not dealing with those delays). Are there any other ways to speed up the sim time?
