Long-time league has a few openings
Full League Name (Initials): RLPA Reboot
Main URL: www.rlpa.org Reports URL: BNN Home Page Boards URL: Replacement Level Players Association :: Index Commissioner(s) OOTP Forum Username(s): Anthony Giacalone (anthonygiacalone) or Mark Wiffen (wiffen) Email Address: giacalone.anthony@gmail.com OOTP Version: 13 Game Needed: yes Players: historical # of Teams: 28 Export Deadlines Days And Times: MWF 5 pm ET League Time Per Sim: 10 days First Season: 1985 Latest Season: 1995 Special Rules & Settings: no personnel or scouting, soft cap of $80 million, bankruptcy rule, three-year extension max, no minor league extensions Currently Available Teams: Colorado Rockies, Florida Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Pirates One of the OOTP community's longer running leagues, The RLPA has a few openings for its 1996 season. RLPA is in it's 9th year simming after starting with a group of associates brought together at Baseball Think Factory. Our website and forum is located at www.rlpa.org RLPA Reboot, an historical league, was based on the model of our highly successful RLPA Classic league. The Reboot started with the 1985 season and contains 28 real-life teams. We do not use managers, personnel or scouting. We manually create each new draftee to make sure that the ratings are all realistic when each player enters the league. Additionally, each draft pool considers MLEs to make draftees as realistic as possible. We have not altered the game-generated personality or injury ratings. Also, the league will have the normal average rating of 100 for talent changes, which has introduced that great element of chance so that some great players have failed miserably while others have become stars. Our finances are not historically accurate. Our tradition (through 40 simmed years of RLPA) has been to have a soft-cap set at $80 million dollars. All our markets are of equal size, so there is not an inherent advantage to being in New York as opposed to Cincinnati. You can take a look at our website at www.RLPA.org We think that you will really enjoy our community. Hope to hear from you or see you on the RLPA forums, Anthony Giacalone giacalone.anthony@gmail.com Commissioner, RLPA Reboot Commissioner, The Antiquity League |

Our available teams are:
Colorado (71-91 in 1995) -- Expansion team in its third year has been relatively successful so far. Offense features one of the league's best hitters in catcher Todd Pratt (lifetime: .298/.443/.533), plus solid players like Larry Walker, Danny Bautista, Mike Lansing, Tim Salmon, Bernie Williams and Fernando Vina. Weak division with only one dominant team. Pitching is decent with deep bullpen and staff that features the excellent very good Pete Smith and knuckle baller Steve Sparks but will get better quickly when Halladay and Garcia are ready. Will pick 8th in the 1996 draft. Farm system: #4 (including SP Roy Halladay, SS Nomar Garciaparra, SP Freddy Garcia, OF David Dellucci). Florida (61-101 in 1995) -- Still building in their third season after expansion. They are middling team but in a mediocre division. Lineup features the incomparable Barry Bonds, plus complementary hitters like Al Marin, Brian Jordan, Eddie Taubensee and Jerry Browne. Pitching staff is good but old as it features 35-year-olds John Franco and Tom Browning. The Rotation is heading by Browning and surprising Cris Carpenter, plus youngsters Cory Lidle and Ramon Garcia. Will pick 4th in the 1996 draft. Farm system: #3 (including CF Carlos Beltran, SP Javy Jazquez, SP Bret Tomko) Milwaukee (76-86 in 1995) -- Offense struggled in 1995 but their pitching was good and they have the talent to rebound fairly quickly. They boast one of the leagues best hitters in Kevin Reimer (lifetime: .388/464/.675) but he's become a bit injury-prone in recent years and feature youngsters Marc Newfield, Doug Glanville, Javy Lopez and Trot Nixon. Pitching staff has been good but is older and will probably lose its top two starters after the season, but the bullpen is very good. Gets #12 pick in the 1996 draft. Farm system: #10 (including SP Johan Santana, SP Jarrod Washburn, SP Jeremy Powell, CL Pedro Feliciano) Minnesota (47-115 in 1995) -- Rebuilding team with the first pick in the draft. Been handicapped by not having a reliable owner for several seasons. Their offense is rather putrid but does have some complementary players in their primes like Troy O'Leary and Kevin Jordan. Pitching staff is just mediocre but does stuff to build around with all-star Greg Maddux, aging Bret Saberhagen, solid Andy Ashby and a bullpen headed by Jeff Shaw and Jose Mesa. Gets #1 pick in the 1996 draft. Farm system: #27 (but probably better than that as it includes 3B Mike Lowell, 3B Russell Branyan, RF Jermaine Dye, CF Preston Wilson, MR Hideki Okajima SP John Thomson). Pittsburgh (76-86 in 1995) -- A pretty decent team that plays in the most difficult division in baseball. Offense features good DP combo of Kenjiro Nomura and Tony Womack with solid complementary pieces, like Damian Miller, Mark Grudzielanek and Paul O'Neill. Pitching is pretty good as staff is headed by Kevin Appier, Mike Dyer, phenom Brady Raggio and youngster Todd Ritchie, while bullpen features Curt Leskanic and Paul Quantrill. Gets #12 pick in the 1996 draft. Farm system: #26 (including SP A.J. Burnett, SP B.J. Wallace, C Paul Lo Duca) Drop me a line at giacalone.anthony@gmail.com or go to rlpa.org and fill and fill out an application. Last edited by AnthonyGiacalone; 01-02-2013 at 05:55 PM. |

We seem to be filled up again. But drop us a line if you have interest in being on our wait-list. As any of you who are familiar with online leagues knows, there will always be another team available soon. Turnover is the name of the game.
