Random PCM Spreadsheet
Edit: no mod section really fit... move, if needed.
So, i wanted to add more volatility to static LTM, just in case the stats remain alot flatter than recent years' releases... I should have coded a lil c++ program, lol... would have taken 1/4th the time... i had to use some workaround due to lack of logic in openoffice calc functions. This is probably better for others to use, though. Inputs: Year Min Change Allowed Max Change Allowed *Min PCM value allowed* *Max PCM value allowed* Current PCM values Output: randomized pcm calculated with given ranges. currently gives 100 years, but number of rows is only limited by your spreadsheet program and computer. It has instruction in the form of a comment on the first worksheet... no technical support provided ___ Notes on 2 spreadsheet choices____ "Random PCMs.ods" - the random yearly change is added/subtracted to/from the previous year's PCM. *Min/Max PCM allowed is relevant for this spreadsheet, only.* "Alternative Random PCMs.ods" - the random yearly PCM change is added/subtracted to/from 1.000. Range is irrelevant, unless you don't understand that min/max change +/- 1.000 is the min/max range, inherently every year. You also do not need to worry about current PCM (yellow input fields), since it's all relative to "1.000". I realize now, that i forgot to remove this row... no big deal. The "alternative" spreadsheet may be the better one. although, if you recalc the other spreadsheet a ton you will find some cool patterns when it is added/subtracted from previous year... but you also get a ton of patterns that you may not want to use for any PCM. if you don't use the alternative one, i'd suggest cherry picking columns when you see a viable one... highlight, copy, paste special... etc (comment has those instructions).. realize if 2 columns are vialbe, you better copy them all at once, or the spreadsheet will likely recalculate and you will lose it after you paste the first column of data you like. you can turn auto-recalculate off in your spreadsheet... then just hit F9 when needed... likely still recalcs when it loads, though... trial and error to remember that part. Also, don't worry if a column is a pcm for contact and you'd rather use it for Stuff... completely arbitrary which column is associated with which pcm... and you certainly don't need to use 1 set of caclulated PCM... mix and match... get creative to find script you like. *** if you want the Alternative one to not +/- from 1.00 but from your current PCM, replace "1" in the formula with a link to your current PCM in the yellow row (cnt=0, row). fill to the right, then fill down and it's fixed. i should have done this, but i never deviate from 1.000 as default, so i just hard-coded it that way with "1" in the formula as i quickyl changed how it worked from the original spreadsheet.
