I see you have renamed some of your franchises so I have a request, instead of the "New York Bears" franchise can you make them the "New York Empires?"

As a native "Noo Yawker" from Brooklyn, I feel the "Empires" name is a more realistic name for a franchise based in New York City than "Bears."

If anything the "Bear" name would be more appropriate for an upstate New York team than one in New York City

I'll think about doing the Empires. I know that Bears in not an NYC thing, but it's a hold over from my days with SNK Baseball Stars. I could only have names up to eight letters long and the Bears sounded good to me, a Michigan kid who knew nothing about New York.

Here's the origin per Wikipedia:

The early entry of this team in 1883 was simply the New Yorks, also sometimes called the Gothams, "Gotham" being a synonym for New York City. According to legend, manager Jim Mutrie was bragging to newspaper reporters about the stature of his players, "My big fellows! My giants!" and by about 1885 the name was stuck on the team for good.

The New York Giants of the NFL were named for the baseball team which was once their landlord.

Of course there are "Bears" in Manhattan. Bulls, too.
