26...First gold pack. I was disappointed my gold was a reliever, but then a 2nd gold came out, and my disappointment went away.

So, i got lucky and hit a 100, sold it for 37k, and spent 35k on 25 regular packs and 2 gold packs....What do you guys think, was it worth it?

I would say yes. Yelich+Snell are solid Diamond cards, and add golds in Grabarkewitz, Keuchel, Yates, Altuve, plus lots of solid depth guys (Morton, Ichiro, Cone, etc...).
Now, whether that's better than taking that 35k and using it to buy out a bunch of top players on the auction house, very hard to say. |

That Burns you got has played well for me all the way into AA. Earns you PP with his multi hit games and cranks out doubles.

Frederick, too. Both are guys I've had trouble finding players worthy of replacing them (even with higher ratings).

Not bad but considering it took 25 to 30 packs to build this roster is instructive. It takes a while to build a great team and one cannot just "pack-bomb" his way to it (without spending a great deal of money).
Which is reassuring. Thanks for this exciting live pack opening. It was exciting!

That was a great idea. Fun following along.
If you had bought the players you pulled on the AH, it would have cost you around 30K PP, so you probably came out a bit behind (although after selling all the junk cards you might have enough for another pack to open, so who knows). Plus you might have been able to tailor your roster more in the AH. The flip side is you didn't have to wait around for auctions to end and delay earning more PP with a better team. And opening packs is a lot more fun than baby-sitting multiple player auctions. Last edited by Weaseltail; 11-23-2018 at 11:42 AM. |

I'm going to do this to show people how unlikely it is to pull 2 diamonds in 25 packs for some people lol.

Interesting post, thanks a lot for sharing the excitement.
I think you got a decent team, and as Déjà Bru said it takes a while to build a great team

I think it was definitely worth it. You have a good team as opposed to a starter team. You will earn points at a higher rate, leading to more good cards faster. Yelich, Snell, and Altuve will generate points on their own.
Thanks for doing this. It was interesting and entertaining. |

Thanks for this! The best part of this game for me is opening packs. Brings back the rush I got as a child. Now if we could just get the wax residue on the backs of the cards...
Fun for frame of reference as well as opening vicariously. My roommate and I each call each other over to the screen when we open packs. Nothing like the feel of pulling a diamond! |
