Windows 10 and 2.5 question
Using Windows 10. 2.5 had run fine on it til yesterday when it began freezing up. I have 2.5 on another older laptop but I'm wondering if anyone who has had the problem has tried to run Windows 10 in compatibility mode to see if 2.5 will work OK there.
Not sure how to get compatibility mode going either.

Knock on wood, but the compatibility mode seems to be working. 2.5 is running on 10 and hasn't frozen up. I set it to run in windows 7 mode
I right clicked on my 2.5 desktop icon. selected properties checked the box to run the program in compatibility mode selected windows 7 in the drop down menu box clicked ok This seems to have done the trick. I'll keep my fingers crossed but I have a big smile on my face. Something seems to have gone right.

boxrec.com question
Hello all,
Like a bad habit I'm back. Recovering from open heart surgery & dbl bypass & dealing with prostate cancer so have some time going forward. My question with boxrec.com is when I go to a fighters biography page and then click on the fighters link # for boxrec it will go to the boxrec front or home page rather than right to that fighter as it did before. How can I fix this if at all? I'm using Windows 10 and Version 2.5.25 of Title Bout. (see there is a version 2.5.27 some place.) For the most part only a few problems with the game locking up while editing fighters. Once again when I get things setup I would like to try my hand at rating a list of HW's I'd like to try my hand at rating & post. Happy to see the site forum still active. Regards; Hootowl9 (Fred) |

I'm in you corner and wishing you the best with your health and wellness issues. I;m just getting back into the game and spotted a comment on the boxrec issue while catching up on posts Plight pointed out the boxrec problem in another post saying the foowing Boxrec changed formats back in August, requiring a change in the External Data Link. It should be http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/$$ID$$ instead of http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=$$ID$$&cat=boxer

Bugger.
It seems to be a hit and miss thing with TB 2.5 and Windows. To tell you the truth I'm surprised you can get the game running at all on Win 10. I have it on a separate WIN 10 PC that isn't connected to the internet but I use my older laptop with WIN 7 to run the game. Sooner or later I expect it to crap out again. Have you tried doing a system restore? When mine crashed a while back I did one and uninstalled the game before reinstalling it and using an old saved game. There is no one around to ask about this stuff any more since Andreas sold the game to Paul. Cap

I am having issues playing 2.5 in Windows 10 as well. The game will load but when I click on the date it freezes. I haven’t played around with the compatibility settings yet and I am reluctant to uninstall and then reinstall in case I use my licences up.

I'm using compatibility mode but it is still freezing up. Usually, after a lengthy wait it will unfreeze but I feel like I'm walking in a quagmire. It is taking me an hour to update a fighter file which usually takes less than 5 minutes

The other day without warning it froze when I tried to change the date after startup. So I did a Ctrl-Alt-Del and used Taskmaster to shut it down. Not sure that still exists with Win 10.

Were you running something else while it was loading? 2.5 and 2013 are both very finicky about working in the background.

Mine shows its working otherwise I couldn't shut it down. I guess we can expect this considering 2.5 came out nearly a hundred years ago when we were using WinXP.

My experience of programs that freeze is when you go into task manager it says not working in brackets but TBCB doesn’t say that which makes me think it is, like you say, working, perhaps it’s just slow?
Win XPis a good idea for a compatibility setting as Win 7 hasn’t worked for me. |
