What league are you in? What time of year is it? You should always be able to instantly sign a goalie, unless you've got a salary cap issue, which then you just need to place a goalie on IR to create the room to sign someone.

As Schifty says, but you should still be able to. We may need to see the save. And you should always have at least 4 goalies under contract for this exact situation. Or maybe...one losing a passport...

I'm proud to be the GM/HC of the 9th times Stanley cup winner Edmonton Oilers, season 2033. And in my opinion I have no financial problems.

How do you set lineups for a PP scenario? The way the lines are set is a traditional LW/C/RW/LD/RD set up, but if I'm employing, say, a 1-3-1, how do I know who is in what position? Is the game engine not sophisticated enough to really matter, or should I be placing players in specific spots? Is there at least a way of assigning one player to play the point, and four guys to be 'forwards' in general?

I believe RD is your point man, RW is your down low.

Only if they show up in the list of Staff Free Agents.

I used to click the link in the Manager task list but can't find it anymore.

How do I move players from one line to another. In FHM5 I would just drag and drop. I can no longer drag and drop. Is there a trick?

You need to look at Prospects. Or check your Scouting Reports right now.

There is a known issue with the Fastspring version - right now you need to click the check mark box by the name, then click the one by the spot you want.

Why is it that my 1st PP line gets a lot more ice time than 2nd line (data from last game, but it happens very often):
- 1st line 7:22 ,
- 2nd line 0:54,
- all pp lines icetime is set to 50/50 (i tried 49/51 for one game, but i didnt notice any change)

Its annoying, because my best guys get tired a lot faster because of that...
(i dont watch games, i click sim game)

There is a lot of extenuating circumstances that can dictate how much 2nd PowerPlay plays. That's probably a little odd, keep watching some though. Zone starts/entries and stops and starts can make it difficult to switch.

5:19 vs 0:48
4:58 vs 1:06
5:30 vs 1:10
4:53 vs ~0:45
5:57 vs 0:03 !!
7:35 vs 1:14
4:33 vs 0:40
2:02 vs 0:00

I understand there can be powerplay goal so a shift ends and 2nd line doesnt have a chance to play and all kinds of different situations, but this looks a bit too much...

On 40/60 icetime: 3:15 vs 0:13, 0:29 and 0:42 (2nd line got random times, but all much less than 1st line)
Changed to 10/90 icetime: ~6:00 vs ~1:00
Changed to 0/100 and game crashes on me when i hit 'sim game' button...

Looks like it doesnt work as intended, at least for me...

I'll have a look and try to see why the first line is getting imbalanced amounts of icetime, but the 0/100 setting isn't causing a crash for me. You've got that on the 5-on-4 unit? Forwards only, or D as well?

0/100, 10/90, 40/60 etc - always changed everyone to the same setting like below.

What is the possibility that we could have some additional playoff rule options added? Right now there aren't many options between 8 team playoffs and 16 team playoffs, the only one I've seen is 12 team, 3 per div. I'd love to see the addition of a 10 team playoffs (bottom 2 teams of each conference play a series to get in), the CCHL (Central Canadian Hockey League) used a 10 team format for their playoffs in 2014/2015.

if you're playing as gm+coach do the tactics/ingame tactics attributes do anything if you upgrade them?
