Is it possible to obtain achievements in Sandbox mode or are achievements strictly available for Path to Glory

I think they're strictly for PtG.

Will the option to simulate be added to PTG at any point either

Currently, for me at least, PTG simulates much slower than Sandbox mode so having the option to sim weeks/months at a time would be extremely beneficial

Career mode is designed to be slower, it is about the daily hockey operations and not simulating many weeks/months without doing anything.

The simulating speed in PTG and Sandbox is exactly the same because they use exactly the same code.

And once again: FHM is simulating a very big world with hundreds of leagues, thousands of teams and 130.000+ players (and I think more then 100.000 staff as well) + national teams. That takes time. FHM is not designed to simulate lightning fast, we will always choose more details/more depth for speed.

And I'm assuming there's no way to reduce this number, as I am currently getting stuck on this screen for up to two minutes each time I try to continue

try reducing the number of playable leagues...do you have all of them selected as full? This can only be done at the start of a new game. With all leagues selected to full it takes my PC about 30 seconds. With only a select few it takes under 10 seconds.

If we deselect leagues, will stats and players still be generated?

Yes, but you won't see individual league schedules and game results... check the NCAA in a regular game.. You'll see your prospects in college accruing stats, but their teams don't have any records or team stats.

That happens in any non-playable league.

I have all deselected besides NHL and AHL

Maybe your computer is just to slow? You could try a "real" fictional setup with just the NHL + AHL + CHL, maybe that works better for you.
