game crashes at "loading player card data" can't access my playoffs

Quit OOTP, then try manually deleting the league folder with the ".pt" ending in your saved games folder. Then restart OOTP, then try again.

OK, this league seems to have been damaged by server troubles earlier tonight unfortunately. I am not sure if we can recover it, sorry

my boss is not gonna be happy about all the time I wasted at work this week building my juggernaut only to have this happen!

The league is still simulating, but I really have no clue why you (and 2 others who have reported this) cannot log in.

Nothing gets lost, tomorrow at the latest everything will be back to normal.
