1914 MLB Rules

Hello,

I am setting up a new game to simulate the Federal League from 1914 forwards, but I would like to make sure I have the MLB rules correct so all aspects of the sim are as close to real life as possible. After some searching I believe these rules are pretty close:

(Apparently I can't post pictures. The rules are at https://imgur.com/a/ds0zEGw)

Any opinions on these settings or suggestions for changes?

If these rules are intended for the FL, then you need to turn off trading with other leagues. The AL and NL considered the FL to be an outlaw league, and so they did not allow trades with the FL.

Also, I have no idea if the FL had roster limits or, if it did, what those limits might have been. The AL and NL had 25-man limits in 1913, but dropped all limits in 1914 as a way to hoard players and keep them out of the FL. They reinstated limits in 1915 - 21 in the NL, 25 in the AL, and 35 in both leagues after August 31. The limits were tinkered with for the next forty years, but generally hovered around 25.

That being said, very few clubs would actually carry a full 25-man roster. A typical roster would be 7-8 pitchers, 2-3 catchers, and around a dozen fielders, for about 21-23 players. FL clubs, being strapped for cash most of the time, might have carried even fewer players on a regular basis. So you could keep the roster limits at 25, which would be more-or-less technically accurate, but that would lead to some inaccurate results. I'd recommend a limit of 21 to 23 instead.

Those are the MLB rules, but thanks, I did not know about the lack of roster limits. That should be interesting for sure.

I found the Federal League schedules you made too. That saved me a ton of time!
