Agree 100%. I noticed this in past versions. I run a historical league with fake/new franchises, and never even use an abbreviation used by real historical teams, as that will change the abbreviation in the players "real historical stats" section. I noticed initially when my Lannisport team (LAN) shared with the LA Dodgers (LAN) (even though I had deleted the dodgers from my world.

If you have a spreadsheet program, I suggest listing all team names/abbreviations out and sorting to confirm that you don't have any duplicates.

Then you have that spreadsheet for reference also if you can't remember the abbreviations.

I just dug up the file (it's from 2008), and it actually had 1,621 unique three-letter abbreviations for all the locations which have hosted a minor league ball club. It was challenging at times. There are three Miami locations: one in Arizona, one in Florida, and one in Oklahoma. A bit hard coming up with somewhat sensible abbreviations for such a short name. (And if I were doing it now, I'd have to not use MIA as an option, since the Miami Marlins major league club would now lay claim to that abbreviation.)
