Online league Free Agency Question
Kind of an on-going debate recently regarding processing/timeline for Free Agency in our online league. Currently simming one entire month during free agency. Of course, in doing so there are multiple instances of teams not being able to match or make counter offers, even after receiving information during the previous sim that they "were currently in the lead with the best offer on the table." Just pretty much takes the whole free agent bidding process out of the equation when you sim that far ahead.
How does your league handle the Free Agency period? Length of sims? Any special rules or arrangements? |

early on 7 days.
starting around february when big names already signed, 14days. but leagues that sim 3-4 times during reg season often sim daily during offseason. with the 7-14 it goes by quick enough. my personal 2 cents. it is ridiculous that plenty ppl want to rush the offseason as fast as possible when it is THE most important part of the season and the most active for a GM. lets face it, in reg season u DL the file, maybe replace a guy that got injured. other than that, you check on minors and leading up to TD maybe tradetalks.

Seven days in the off-season is SOP for many online leagues.
If you are seeking a way to speed the off-season process, you could sim to ARB, and then sim MULTI-WEEKS through the free agency date. That way, nobody will be bidding for FA's until you stop! For example, roll THRU FA and up until Jan 1st? Then seven days per up until Opening Day to give plenty of back and forth bidding. |
