OOTP 18 Ballparks
I was tinkering with the new game and tried a few past seasons to see if the ballparks were correct. I tried Schieb Park and Sportsmans Park from 1941 and 1946 respectively. When the ball parks finally appeared at the beginning of the game, the correct stadium name was at the top of the screen but the stadium was clearly not either of these two. In the OOTP 17 version, the parks were OK. Help, please.

Did you move the models and park images into the ootp18/ballparks file? If not, copy/paste the 3d models into the ootp18/ballparks/model folder and the year folders (assuming you have Pstrickert's ballparks mod) into the ootp18/ballparks folder.

Yes, I copied/pasted the 3D ballparks to the OOTP 18 folder named "Ballparks". When I look at a team's page, the edit ballpark area, I don't see all of the ballparks in this folder. Any other suggestions, please? Thanks.
Also, don't know what Pstrickert's ballpark mods are. Last edited by terp47@atlanticbb.net; 04-01-2017 at 02:34 PM. Reason: Additional Comment |

By default the 3D stadiums go in the Z:\OOTP Baseball 18\data\ballparks\models folder but you can browse to another location especially if you want to keep your league files in a folder together.
Pstrickert's ballparks are diagrams that are used for Broadcast View. These can be added thru Add-ons Central |

My ballpark files contain the whole shebang: 2D, 3D, and ballpark outline files.

Thanks. Is Add on Central in the Forums somewhere?

The images at OOTP Mods are from an earlier version, but the instructions are valid. |

I downloaded the first pstrickert historical ballpark file from Add Ons Central after adding ootpmods as a server. The downloaded file only has jpgs and prk files, no 3d stuff. Am I getting the wrong file?

pstrickert, what is the difference between the Improved Historical Ballpark Models and Updated Historical Ballparks in Add-On Central. Both descriptions have JPG and PRK files. I installed the former files and I don't want to give wrong advice and confuse others or sound like a moron. There were no 3D files for me either.

"Improved" and "Updated" are for previous versions of the game. jazzrack has added the newest files (8 parts) for OOTP18. They should be at or near the top of the list.

The best approach is to download and install all the parts.

I only see three files, not eight. Am I missing something or has it been condensed into three files since this thread was posted? Thanks.

Some of the parks were updated, so I sent the whole shebang to jazzrack again. This time he was able to split them into three parts rather than eight.

That's what Ty Cobb did when he played drunk. When he saw three balls coming at him, he would always aim his swing for the one in the middle. He said it made him a better hitter. |

I always play historical, though I avoid the times prior to 1930. Everyone know who the best player in the game was then...why bother to beat a dead horse?
