CIS breakdown

The CIS is a 52 team college league feeding the CBL. It is broken down into four 13 team conferences.
Each team plays the other 12 teams in its conference 3 times for a 36 game schedule during April & May. They do not play the other conferences during the season.
The top four teams in each conference enter a 16 team tournament to determine the CIS champion.
The tournament plays through June and early July ending before the CBL draft.

The CIS is based on real CIS teams but is restructured somewhat for easier scheduling.

Atlantic University Sport: contains teams from the real AUS and some teams from RSEQ
-------------------------------
Acadia Axemen
Cape Breton Capers
Dalhousie Tigers
Memorial Sea-hawks
Moncton Aigles Bleu
Mount Allison Mounties

The logo&uni file should be extracted directly to your OOTP15 folder.

This will place the logos, jerseys and caps in a separate CBL folder under each folder (ballcaps, jerseys & logos) to keep the CBL stuff separate from your other stuff.

The template can be used to start over with new players or add the CBL to other leagues.

You'll need the logos and schedules if you use the template. The schedules will need to be imported if you use the template.

Also you'll need to adjust the CIS creation ages after creating the league and the CIS playoffs will need to be adjusted as you like.

The quickstart is in preseason still so you can still make adjustments.

Quick question, I have a league in 14 that I want to put into a larger "world" I have created for 15. How do I turn the league into a template. I can't seem to figure it out, and the only option to import a new league is as a template (or can you merge a league from 14 into a new league in 15?)

I don't have ootp14 installed on my computer right now, but somewhere under the game or league settings, you should be able to export your league as a template.

I'm not sure templates will keep the history/stats of your league though if that's what you want, but I'm not sure because I haven't tried it.

ootp14 templates do import into 15 just fine though.

Why don't you just import your league into 15 and save it as a template in 15, then add it to your other league.

To make a template of your league

OOTP14

Game - Set Up & Options - Templates (bottom right) - Save This World As Template

OOTP15

Game - Game Settings - Available Global Actions (top right) - Save This Game As Template

Thanks for the QS. No stadiums -- is that correct?

Quickstart and logo/uni pack updated to v1.1 in 1st post

Quickstart has new unis for some teams I wasn't happy with. (credits to pwal)
Also fixed CIS creation ages which was incorrect.

The logo/uni pack contains all the correct logos & unis.
If you have the previous pack installed you should install this one overtop. This is because the game seems to overwrite the quickstart unis with ones in CBL folders under caps, jerseys & logos. ie, you might get older unis or logos showing up in game.

Just a little something to pick on, but I feel your league should include more teams in Quebec.

Afterall, there's two independent baseball teams in the province, including the highly popular Quebec Capitales. Maybe have a Quebec, Ontario, Central and Western division.

Great work nonetheless, especially on the CIS.

When I first made the league, I'm sure Quebec City was in consideration as one of the teams, but they ended up left out.

It's not hard to change one of the teams to Quebec City if you wanted too. ...or change one of the minor leagues to a Quebec league.

Khan,

I may have asked you this before, but do you have your CIS saved as a template by itself?

No I don't and it seems it's a pain to get it without just making it over by itself.

It's a 4x13 league playing 36 games, wouldn't take more than an hour to recreate it as a template.

This is a great quickstart/templete. I expanded it to 16 teams, but have a question. Do I need to add another feeder team for the draft? Or will it still produce enough good prospects for the draft?

Sorry for not replying sooner. Glad you like it.

I'm not sure if you'll need to add some more feeder teams or not as I haven't tried expanding it myself.

You could try experimenting and see what your draft pool looks like.

If you see a lot of players in the pool who have no college stats then it's something you may want to consider.

Of course if you expand the feeder system then the custom setup for the
feeder leagues won't work and you'll need a new schedule.

I think there are about four real CIS universities that are missing from quickstart. So you could add them and maybe move some to a difference division if you needed

Would it be impractical to change the schedule to 162 games?

Would it lose it's 'novelty' by doing so?

Hi Khan, thank you for the CBL you created, for the first time I am enjoying a fictional league and having great fun with it.

Would it be possible for you to add 2 teams to it so that we have two divisions or leagues of 7 teams each so that we can have an all star game?

You could use a longer schedule if you wanted but you'd have to find one that fits or settle for what OOTP gives you. Plus the minor leagues were setup to have schedules that were just a bit shorter than the next highest level.

I'm considering expanding the league but this will probably come in an OOTP16 version.
