looks like we're in the same league this round (btw - nice new logo for the Direwolves)... Waffletown is my 2nd team (NC Central)... got a bunch of teams from my bronze league here... if they all play up to expectations, it'll be a good challenge from Hollywood, Vancouver, Aliquippa (all three division winners from last year; the last two 120+ game winners)

6-7 start. My pitching? Blech.

No panic yet. I know that Patrick Corbin won't continue on with a 6.88 era, nor will Carlos Martinez continue with a 9.77. And my closer Keone Kela has an ERA of 12.00!!!!

Offensively I still have the top team in the conference so far in Batting average, on base and stolen bases and am 4th in HR and runs scored. This in in spite of Orlando Cepeda hitting .176 and Chipper Jones at .238 and Clyde Milan at .186

I think there will be less 120+ game winners every week

I had Cepeda in Beta. He can be a monster.

He did well in the entry league and last season. His ratings are just too good to stay in a slump too long

Not so sure about that. I have him as well, and mine also blows out of his last hole ...

I had Carlos Martinez last year for a while and he was terrible. His ERA never went below 6 so I dumped him.

Edit: I had the #2 defense so that wasn't the problem. I think the problem is that he's an extreme groundball pitcher. From reading the manual, I'm starting to think that you're generally better off with a flyball pitcher (assuming their ratings are otherwise similar).

Looks like we are off to a slow start. 3-8 when I checked a bit earlier. I see Catalina is over in your conference. One of teams in my division is perfects and diamonds, so another tough fight ahead.

I also my rival, Vyshka's Texarkana Tumbleweeds over in the other conference. We beat each other up all last season. Hopefully we can play in the WS this year. I see some of our other teams in this league too. Good luck, my friend

still in the bronze league with a team primarily filled with golds & silvers, 2-11 start for primary team, 0-7 at home. sucking and loving it, the randomness of PT is pretty amazing.

good stuff!

Haha! My Greydudes (all iron) took 2 out of 3 from Sale, Stanton, and Clemens to open the season. They have a couple perfects and the rest is 50/50 diamond and gold. I bet that person is fuming! Very satisfying ;p

Anyone else in Sigma Psi silver league?

I'm running an all historical team for this season. Also have Orel Hershiser as a long man but he doesn't show.

He was 14-6 with a 3.62 era for me last season.

Oh this is hilarious. First and only two packs I open with this team and I get Harper, Altuve, and Corbin. Figures. Hopefully I'll get something above Sell Now price.

Thalion's Walnut Creek Geezers are in my Division this time too. World Series opponent in Bronze and division rival in Silver. Also, Morug's Montreal Expos Legends are in my conference.

Good luck this season.

(snip)

I still have several important 2018 players to replace before my project is complete. I have lots and lots of time and Christmas is approaching.

I spent the day shopping and came home to find that my team had a very lukewarm start. I sat down with a couple of glasses of wine and, while my overall mood improved, my impression of my team did not improve. So, the conversion from live cards to historical has accelerated. Maybe this season will be a transition year. Do I get a higher draft pick if I fail to get promoted?

Thats will be a hard season for me. My only hope is the wild card. So many good club around me, i'm little lucky to be 9-6 to date after playing you and Socal Bulldogs for 6 games. My only hope is the other clubs after the Bulldogs in my division are not so big powerhouse.

I'm off to a rough start in April for my Thrashers. It's been a real rough start for my starters.

At least we're still hitting fairly well. A couple of tweaks, a couple of packs that produced no better than Chris Iannetta, but I was pleased to pick up a fairly cheap Willie Randolph on the AH. If I'm going to lose I might as well do it with players I like, but there is only one direction to go now.

Trenton is off to a 5-12 start. So I go and get a gold on my measly PT stash.

My team is 8-8 at the moment. We lost 6 straight to two teams who won 121 and 120 Gs last season. My league has 7 teams that had over 100 Ws last season: 135, 124, 123, 121, 120, 112, 105.

I fear getting promoted to a gold league. Even though my team isn't very good, we could still end up in the top 16. Wouldn't be pretty.
