It seems as though there is a lot of variability in the performance of a lot of these cards. While many on your list have done very well on my teams, others, not so much.
Of course, this is true of many higher rated cards as well.

Dude, get yourself a Len Barker. I believe I read he's been nerfed slightly after being pretty consistently a Top-10 pitcher in the Beta, but he still seems to be at least be delivering Gold-level results at Silver.

I have him, but you can't get him for around 1,000 PP so I didn't include him on the list.
