Is there any reason the schedule would be a game short of what it's supposed to? It also scheduled some teams to play all games vs another team either at home or on the road.

Here's the grid what it built

I also attached the generated schedule and settings file used to create it. It was supposed to build a 102 game schedule, each team playing the other 17 teams 6 times total, 3 times at home and on the road.

That's an odd one. I have a busy week or two planned, but I'll look at this as I have time.

I suspect that the bad home/away balance is a result of the wrong number of games scheduled, so hopefully it's a simple fix.

Fixed! The scheduler tries to hit the all-star break as closely as possible, and in this instance ends up with too little time for a divisional series. There were no checks to prevent the scheduler from attempting to place an interleague series, if interleague series were set to be shorter than divisional series, to fill time before the all-star break, even if there were no interleague series to be played.

v2.6 is up in the first post.

Do you have Java installed? If not, follow the instructions here.

That's not what I see. The link in the first post goes to the website, and the link there leads to this file: http://manywords.press/other-stuff/o...rator.v2.6.zip

When I click the link in the first post and I have done this several times today, opens the following window and as you can see the file size is 3.8 kb... If I click on the link you just posted then it opens a similar window and the file size is 9.4 mb... Something is a miss here, don't know what...

To anyone having trouble downloading: try the link on the front page again, or the direct link a few posts up. There was a problem with my webserver's configuration.

r0nster: yes, it runs in a command prompt. There's a usage guide a page or so back.

once I figure out the JAVA thing I'm sure I will be able to change number of teams to 34 teams and 168 games per team or should I move it back to 162 ... also will teams end up having same days off or can they be variable like how it is in real life???

You should be able to run it by just double-clicking run.bat. If the window closes immediately, that suggests that Java is installed in some way which doesn't support command prompt use.

The scheduler should be fairly forgiving with team counts and game counts. It'll tell you if it can't make a certain schedule work, and make a suggestion on how to fix it.

Off days using the break_days setting in the settings file will occur on the same day for every team. Bye days, which occur when divisions, subleague pools, or interleague pools are of an odd-numbered size, will of course be spread around the league at roughly equal intervals.

Great, looks like it's working.

To change the structure and so on, edit the settings.ini file with the values you want.
