Special Rules & Settings: Coaching/scouting turned off. Ratings 1-10 scale. Ratings displayed relative to the OTBA. Trading of draft picks allowed. Free agent compensation is in play but we have customized it to our liking (it's not turned on in the game and we use our own parameters/do it manually). We also have some custom rules about vesting and team option years on contracts (we allow them, but following certain guidelines).

About this league: This league was formed in early 2005 on OOTP 6 and has been going strong ever since. We've been through many version changes, expansions, contractions, etc. but have kept the same overall vibe and many of the same owners have been around since the beginning or almost that long.

It is called the Off Topic Baseball Association because it originally formed among a group of people who frequented the OT part of the forum back then. In recent years it has come to include others from around the OOTP community, but we have kept the same mentality of being a forum-based league. This means that I do not send out emails, and owners rarely use instant messengers. Most all communications happen on the forums so you will need to be comfortable checking forums daily and interacting with others in a forum environment.

Greetings, OOTP land. The OTBA currently has two openings and we are just beginning the 2064-65 offseason. It's a great time to join a league that has been truckin' along for over 10 real life years.

The Washington Fillibusters and the Gold Canyon Prospectors are both rebuilding projects, lost 100+ games in '64! Washington will have the #1 pick in the upcoming draft, while Gold Canyon will have #3. Washington has some really nice pitching prospects to build around, while Gold Canyon has the best catching prospect in baseball. Bright futures for both of these teams - they just need someone in the driver's seat!

BTW, we are currently using the 16.6.30 update, so any interested owners will need to be fully patched.

I have been in the league for 5 real life years covering 34 in-game seasons. I've been in and out of several other leagues during that time, but OTBA has been constant and the best league I've participated in during that time. Very newbie friendly. Good league if you've never participated in an online league and want to try one. Great group of core GMs that have been in the league since the beginning.

We're still looking for a quality owner or two. The OTBA is one of the top leagues out there. We're both friendly to people new to the game and will provide challenge for experienced owners as well. I promise you won't find a better league out there.

Bumping this thread - we currently have an opening for either the Long Island Accents or the Cleveland Spiders.

The current Cleveland owner has expressed interest in switching franchises, but if you are interested in taking over either team shoot me a PM and we'll figure something out.

The league is currently in the middle of the 2066 season, come join a great group of owners!
