Arturo Godoy was trained by Charley Goldman and also had
Whitey Bimstein as his Cut Man. Greg

Just watched Godoy's two battles with Joe Louis again. Real swarmer that one. Classic. Spar for a second then rush in, ducking low and lashing away with lefts and rights to anything and everything. Figure he was likely at the peak of his powers in those two fights. Could take a helluva shot and was pretty elusive in that crab-like crouch of his. Smacked Louis a few good right hands and a couple of left hooks after the bell. Learned that from Max Baer or Tony Galento.
I'd rate him high for inside, almost no outside. Elusive defence against a boxer. Chin like teakwood. Plenty endurance. After going 15 hard with the great Brown Bomber he was literally jumping around the ring. Got cut bad in the second fight, but wasn't a big factor. Cap

The Arturo Godoy rating was revisited. He's still an 8, but I gave him a swarmer-type rating.
