EC Needs Help with Joliet Green Giants

Hey, I know it's corny, but I am going to have a team in my new fictional dynasty league called the Joliet Green Giants... and yes, the team mascot at all the games will be the Jolly Green Giant.

You know I have limited skills creating graphics... no access to Script Fonts... my work is just average at best.

I hope some of you graphics folks will see what you can come up with.

TEAM NAME: JOLIET GREEN GIANTS
Colors: Dark Green Primary with Yellow and Medium Green for Secondary Colors and Trim

Need Primary Logo, Secondary Logo... Home White, Away Green, Away Light Gray… I prefer Light Gray as it offers better contrast with the other Colors in my opinion... I use the second shade of Gray when I use justafan's software..

If you can make the Green Giant swing a bat that would be marvelous for the Primary Logo.

Much appreciate anything you can do with this request.

Don't mean to ask for too much... I just think some of you might enjoy the task.

My Primary Logo and Secondary Logo... I prefer simple logos... in my opinion they show up better in the game.

I redid all of the jerseys... found a little better font... plus I used the Jolly Green Giant on all of them except the Dark Green Sleeves.

I would also appreciation any constructive criticism.
I have a thick skin... I know my work is just mediocre at best... and I have a long way to go.

I would like to improve my work... please offer advice and suggestions.

I plan on getting a set of Script Fonts and see if I can learn to use them.

There's a big Jolly Green Giant statue, I believe, near LeSueur in Minnesota, if memory serves. Or at least there was, once upon a time, Eugene. Just so you know. CD out.

The aways could probably use a darker gray for them to help the green stand out better. Also white and the yellow you have for the J seem to blend too easily together, so you might want a bit of a darker outline color for any yellow letters on your cap(s) or uniform text. Just a few suggestions here, Eugene. Take them as you will, or not. CD out.

As far as Away Grays... I like the lighter shade because it offer better contrast with the Lettering... just my preference and my opinion... dark and medium gray is too dark most of the time... and does not show up well on OOTP screens.

You can reorder any layer in Jersey Creator. Just access the Options menu at the upper left corner and drag the Buttons layer before Logo/Text 1/Text 2. The default order has Buttons last (topmost jersey graphic).

mad_monk, what does it mean "to reorder any layer"?... just change the order of the items in the list?

I don't understand how changing the order of the way the items are listed would help me in fitting the team name so that the buttons don't interfere with it.

Sorry, I'm not the sharpest tool in the woodshed.

I am befuddled with technology like justafan's jersey creator... it is really remarkable that I can turn out even the mediocre jerseys like these jolly green giants ones.

But, Hey!... something is better than nothing... it will give me decent jerseys, caps and logos to use in my game... which is good.

Yes, change the order of the items/layers. "Buttons" is the default top layer and thus is shown on top of everything listed before it. If you move "Buttons" before Text1/Text2/Logo then your text will not be obscured by it.

Maybe a lasagna analogy? Let's say a top layer of Ricotta cheese is partially covering a beautiful tomato sauce that you want to feature. So next time, add the Ricotta cheese before/below the tomato sauce.

Can you post some team pics in each jersey? Personally i am not a fan of the font. I would possibly use it as a minor league team. in my Illinois Baseball League i use both the Jackhammers & Slammers and have the Joliet Jesters from Low i will use eventually. My IBL is part of my EBL vs MLB league and the IBL is its own planet of Illinois. Joliet has a population of 7 million, so it's big enough to support 2-3 teams.I would use these as is if i ever create my IBL on Earth as a nickname before the Jackhammers, Slammers & Jesters.

I am not a fan of my fonts either... but I only have about 10 decent ones and none of them are script fonts.

My new league is a work in progress... it is just in the beginning stages... I have just about done all of the logos, jerseys and caps for the 12 teams...but have not set up the customized league yet.

I think it will be ready in 2-3 weeks if all goes well.

I intend to have promotion and relegation in it... I got mixed reviews on the OOTP19 Forum about whether or not the game handles it well.

I will PM you when I get everything set up... I'm anxious to see what the team graphics will look like on the game screens... I am so inexperienced in creating the graphics, I don't know a good process to get the product I want... I don't know what looks good yet when designing the jerseys and caps.

I redid all of the jerseys and fixed the button problems thanks to you... I even used the colored buttons.

Hope they look good when I load them into the game.

I reworked the Primary Logo... still not very good... but it's the best I can do.

I think it works better as a circle logo.

Yeah, working on some. Can't say I was too interested in the theme, but the colors grew on me. So embellishing EC's templates above:
