Servers down again ...

For the third straight day, I am experiencing login problems.
Since about 11 a.m. ET I can't login.

"Trying to connect to online services..."
"Contacting servers..."
"Could not connect."

Re-starting Steam and OOTP does not solve the problem.
Internet works fine, other games on Steam too.
Patch is on, my system up-to-date.

Is this a known issue?

Asking from Germany.

The servers aren't down, they're running and are in good shape right now, in fact.

But the basic internet infrastructure is overloaded right now in large parts of Europe, since everyone is inside and this is a peak useage time and that can affect your ability to get through to the servers. It will likely be the same in parts of the US later in the day.

We're doing all we can on our end to make sure the servers are running and in good shape, but the stress on the internet as a whole at peak times right now is unfortunately beyond our control

Seems to be a common problem for people from germany to connect during the day. Might be because of the higher traffic during these days. I compared the times i cant log in with the peak times of internet traffic in my region...and bingo....the peak ends at 22/23 o'clock and i can login again.

Servers are fine during the day for me, problems don't usually start until the Amis wake up. Frankfurt-Köln corridor, but NOT with Telekom...

Sitting here in Bavaria, Germany.
Works very well right now, as most US residents are asleep.

Problems usually start when guys on the East coast start playing a lot.
No chance, when the West coast guys join the game.

Do you get the above error when connecting to PT?

I've reinstalled OOTP, verified the integrity of my files through steam, deleted all the .pt files in the saved_games folder, and submitted a ticket - best I can do is just wait.

Just like that.

Re-installing, deleting saved games or other things will not work, OOTP works perfectly while Americans are asleep.

Turning to Netflix and AmazonPrime at 11 a.m.!
Hope the developers can improve capacity.

Nah, everything works well.
Other steam games, internet in general.

Having decent internet speed and nothing else to complain, except OOTP.

Telekom often has problems with connections to AWS. I am on Vodafone/Kabel D.

That's why I put "not on Telekom" above.

Didn't work for me; thanks for the suggestion though. Reinstalled OOTP for the third time and still doesn't work. Internet is working perfect.

After 5 days of problems with servers here in Germany while you US guys are able to play, OOTP ran perfectly yesterday.

playing other stuff instead,
or thanks to OOTP for improving that situation.
