Best Time to Import OOTP20?

Just finished a league with OOTP20 and I'm on the day where Free Agents File. Is it fine to import my OOTP20 league at this point in the season, or would it be better if I finished some up until some part of the offseason? Any day better than another to start my import. This is an 8-year (in real years) league that spans over 20 season with each game being played out.

Thanks!

I always wait until the day before the preseason starts. I have never had any issues. Not sure if it matters besides I would never do it mid-season.

I did it during mid season (20th of May or so). I just couldn't wait lol. I play out all my games. The worst was a 10 game losing streak. I just had the draft and everything seems fine. However, I have never done it like this before....

Taken from the OOTP20 Manual... I suppose the OOTP21 would be similar.

You can import a game file at any time during your game's calendar year. However, for league consistency, we recommend converting after your last playoff game, before proceeding to the offseason.
We highly recommend making a backup of your newly imported league, and auto-playing several seasons into the future, to assess whether the upgrade has caused any major changes or imbalances in your league.

In previous years I have converted at the beginning of the Preseason and it has worked fine.

Check out this related thread.

Matt Arnold says wait a while before converting.

Here is a question for the community. My reds franchise was done in Challenge mode and I've imported it from 19 to 20 and intend to do the same this season.

However, there are some changes i'd like to make. Mostly this is to remove some of the low minor league teams as I anticipate this will occur in the future. However to do this with current rosters would require that I go into commissioner mode and move all players from these teams to the lowest remaining affiliate.

In short, is there anyway to import and remove challenge mode?

Unfortunately no, there is not directly. However if you want to delete lower level leagues, you can follow some of the tricks in this thread: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=312575 to prevent them from releasing all their players

Will there be a roster update with this patch? To account for some of the injuries and minor roster moves teams have been making the past week or so?
