Dos and donts when setting up an online league

Been a while since I was in the commish game and now back to reboot an old league I ran. All of you expert commishes, and recommendations when I set up the league? It will be historical replay but not following real transactions. GMs will trade and draft whomever and create a new history. Any recommended settings/options that should be on or off?

Is there any experienced online league commishes I could chat with re league setup and files. I thought I had things under control and old exports seemed to have dumped players into the FA pool
