I think it is strictly by number of posts.

Well, you're ahead of me at least. Are there any benefits that comes with each title? Or are they purely for show.

And trust me, there are many OOTP'ers here who are listed as say, All-Star Starters, or some such, who have been playing this game far longer than I have and know so much more about it than I do. But I have no life and post a lot (especially about my fictional W.P. Kinsella league) so I became a HOF'er fairly rapidly. But hey, I know I'm the Harold Baines of OOTP Forum Hall of Famers. (Okay, you might need to look that one up to understand the joke. )

It is. I believe most online forums can be set up like that. IDK, 'cause I don't frequent online forums. Some people aren't aware/don't care about their "forum status"; some do. (Like, some people respond to those "male enhancements" ads; some don't ).

I realized it as I was typing that. But believe me, google Harold Baines and Hall of Fame and before long you will understand exactly what I mean. (Upshot being: Harold Baines= good man, very fine baseball player, absolutely not a Hall of Famer in the minds of most but officially enshrined into the MLB HOF as part of the class of 2019.)

And hey, I have nothing against me being an OOTP forum HOF'er, in spite of also not being the most deserving based on my performance here in the forums. And I'd like to think I'm a pretty good guy too!

I did have to look him up. Learned something new today:
Baines was voted into the Hall of Fame by his peers: he played against five of the six players on the committee, while a sixth served as manager against him. Four executives on the panel were in management while Baines was a player and his former manager and team owner also were on the committee. |
