I really like that idea. I may have to borrow that going forward. I do enjoy opening packs more, but that's a pretty disciplined way of how to determine what to sell or what not to sell. I think I'm going to retroactively apply that logic to justify the packs I opened this week.

I'm nearing the point where I have my team put together that I wouldn't mind opening packs.

Edit: But yeah, I think the smart play is to build the team through the AH first.

I've no idea how I'm doing today but I think, just for the heck of it, I'm going to switch my relievers to starters and vice versa.

I always keep minimally 10K-15k PP in my account for deals in AH...something you see player you can resell for a 1K PP profit. Not often but that happen. And the balance I buy pack with that and generally a try to buy pack in lot of 3 but I open one pack at time until I hit a gold and I resell it for buying new packs. So if I hit a gold in the first pack, I dont buy the second pack immediately, I sold the gold card before opening new packs.

11 games up in my division... should be smooth sailing to promotion from here on out.

Decided to buy a couple packs and was able to upgrade my BP. 2018 Kimbrel was really poopin' the bed.;

There's 11 JD Martinez's in my Gold League and mine is .001 AVG and 1 RBI off from a Triple Crown. His biggest obstacle is several of his clones. I think he's far enough ahead in other categories that he's got the MVP wrapped up barring a collapse in the last month & a half.

Yeah, we'll get there eventually just slow going at this point. At least we are clear of relegation as long as we don't really go downhill in September.

The caveat being is if there is a particular player you're targeting, you may decide to save up and try your luck on the AH. At least, if you see him, bid, and don't get it, you're not out PP.

I bought 5 silver packs, got 1 gold and 3 silver. Sold them all as I already had the gold closer and got back about 3000 points.

I then decided rather than improve with a diamond (expensive) player, I made incremental improvements replacing Maris with Ott and Votto with Greenberg. That cost me about 4000 total after selling the other two, so I still have about 6000 at this point and I will keep looking for incremental improvements.

Can this season (and potentially the next 2) just end quickly please?

I simply can't compete in this particular gold level till all the money bags get the hell up to their Perfect leagues and leave us poor people a game we can actually enjoy.

Cause this getting pounded every day by teams with 10 Perfect player and 15 Diamonds gets old.

As hard to believe as it is, I still have a chance to win my division in the league of death (Gold 301), albeit with a losing record, as I am now leading by 2 games.

If I mange to hold on, it will probably mean a very quick exit form the playoffs and an even longer season next year.

Nonetheless it's a fun ride and very addicting.

Butchered to a 62-81 tune, the Critters are out of the playoffs by 10, ahead of relegation by 8, and out of promotion by 6 games.

In other words, time to call ballgame on this rough season.
