Yeah the WS2 players being included in the Twins mission set is bizarre. Although I did collect those Senators cards and get that individual reward, I have no interest in completing the overall Twins mission.

I don't mind that there is no Rangers mission. I think most teams don't have one.. not even the Yankees. I'm sure it'll all be something rolled out later. It gives me more time to collect more Rangers.

Negro League Collection

I spent over 55000 PP over the course of nearly 2 months and finally finished the Negro League Collection. I overspent on some but got deals on others.

And while I was definitely interested in some of these players for my all contact team - 6 are on my active roster - I was also motivated by the 2 Diamond Pack rewards. I strictly buy Standard Packs so these missions are the only way I would rip open a Diamond Pack. My two diamond packs:

Pretty stoked about Molina!

Yeah, that Molina card retails for 35-45K PP so you just about made your investment back on it plus the Soto card. Not to mention having a bunch of Negro League players at your disposal now.

I pulled a Molina yesterday and sold it today for 55,555 PP.

Most teams don't have their organization's cards showing up in another team's historic mission either though. I'm sure it will all come out in the wash, but it shows a flagrant and alarming disregard for baseball history. This should not be an easy mistake to make, especially for such a respected intellectual property like OOTP

The latest mission I've finished is the Japanese batters. Finally found a Muni Kawasaki for less than 999/1000 PP. I think I paid 200 PP, which is still too much, but it was just daft instead of out and out insane.

That brings my total to 19 completed collections so far. All have been 1 star or 2 star difficulties.

I'm one card away on 5 other collections, but I probably become an astronaut before I find a reasonably priced Chien-Ming Wang, eh?

It would be nice to be able to get some of the diamond pack collection rewards, but people are squatting on those cards with a lot of vigor.

Oy!

I have completed just five. There's even a bunch of single-star kiddo stuff left over that I am too much of a scrooge to buy the cards for.

I DID complete the 2019 Mets set, though…

That David Wright card has been kind to me in Bronze. Just hit for the cycle and got batter of the month.

FYI - Try to buy the SE Strawberry. I didn't think I could complete the mission, so I went to the AH for him. On the same Bronze team he his hitting .293 29 104 with 22 stolen bases

I did buy that Strawberry, but I can't get him into the lineup with Mel Ott and Ken Caminiti and David Wright around. That's three rather excellent diamond cards that also manage to use up the DH spot.

I pulled a Craig Lefferts today to complete the players from Europe collection. That is 50 completed for me.

This is actually probably the smart play because there's still a good deal of overpay necessary to do these collection missions. If I were a smarter man, I'd have waited another couple of months to begin working on them.

Any reason Del Unser's 1980 card (Unsung Heroes) isn't a part of the Phillies 1980 set mission?

Checking my collection mission stats so far...20 missions completed and 37K PP spent on those specific missions.

Gained in the process?

*10 standard packs. Pulled Aroldis Chapman and Javier Baez from these.
*2 gold packs. Pulled Matt Carpenter and Aaron Hicks from these.
*75 Al Leiter (663 PP)
*74 Gil Meche (1200 PP) + 70 Whit Merrifield (900 PP)
*73 Edinson Volquez (2000 PP)
*70 Yan Gomes (500 PP)
*85 Roy Sievers (2500 PP)
*68 Norichika Aoki (??? PP)
*76 Nick Markakis (875 PP)
*87 Harry Heilmann (11251 PP)

All told, that's just about breaking even.

I too am waiting for a Chien Ming Wang. Last time I checked, there was only 1 listed on the AH, for 5k. Not paying that much for a gold reliever basically.

I know. So far I have shown great restraint in not buying that Gary Carter (70) for 2,400 or whatever PP. I did buy a Syndergaard for 8k+, but that is not as outrageous compared to its actual value percentage-wise.

This morning I scooped a rookie Tom Seaver for 322 PP. I waited two weeks for that one.

But of course, plenty of people made plenty of PP by selling to the "OMGIGOTTAHAVEITNOW" crowd.

I have done 4. turned like 20 cheap iron players into three packs that got me some different cheap iron players and a couple bronzes! score. Then did the babe ruth fusion since it is basically free.

Looked at the 1980(?) phillies one which was interesting, but of course there is never a 94 carlton on the market and according to the spreadsheet the special 97 tug mcgraw is strictly worse than the regular 93 tug mcgraw so nevermind.
