Sure, that would be a possibility. But I am not sure if this would be worth the work, to be honest. But well, you always strive for perfection, which is a great motivation for us

Will you have the option to have a full spring training with the 2014 MLB roster now? I know some people don't think it's necessary, but it would be nice to have it as an option to get a feel for your team and shake the rust off...

Well, the roster set is fine-tuned to mimic opening day rosters, so I am not sure if that would make sense, to be honest.

Well, never discount the joy given to users when they can customize things to their heart's content!

Is it that complicated to add schedule file support (or to make changes in the existing schedule file structure support)? It wouldn't seem to me to be that complex a thing; the bigger issue is folks having to write up their own schedule files (or using/modifying real-world schedules).

I nitpick the small things sometimes, it's true.

It would be cool to have a "location" field in normal schedule files too.

Do the come without rust, so to speak?

I know the manual suggests that you should have a spring training to "shake off rust" and I always wondered if that was the case with the MLB roster set...

Definitely. Though such a thing could be handled purely at the schedule file level, it'd be nice to be able to assign a regular season primary and secondary park, as well as a spring training park, for a club inside OOTP itself.

Backwards compatibility (hopefully) ought not to be a problem with an expanded regular season file structure: if OOTP finds the new field in a file, it uses it; if not, it treats the file just like it does now.

Oh, and for those wondering: these days the MLB spring training period (defined here as time during which training games are played) runs five weeks. For affiliated minor league teams, spring training runs three weeks.

In some earlier seasons (e.g. the 1950s), the MLB spring training lasted six weeks. (Hence why I suggested the maximum length be six weeks.)

A German who prefers wine to beer, and baseball to soccer. You, sir, are an enigma.
