Professional Replay Baseball League 1942 Hall of Fame Ballot

I'm not in the country, so this ballot is going to be a little different - much simpler, basically. I'm just going to list the player, their position, their ERA+/OPS+, and their best accomplishment (IMO). You can look up anything else you want by clicking on their player page. This is going to be a very big ballot, since we need people to drop off the ballot and get kicked to the Veterans Committee. The rule is thus - anyone who does not get 2 votes will be kicked to the VC.

10 vote maximum, anyone can vote. Go to it!

HITTERS (Position and Name - OPS+ - Best Accomlishment)

Old Ballot

IF Frankie Barbuto - 101 - 3104 hits

OF Eckard Burlingame - 132 - 4 Rings

3B Julius Coltrane - 138 - 2 BOTY

1B Jim Dane - 110 - 303 HR

OF and P Gene Lassiter - 131 - 336 HR

CF Sully McTeague - 138 - Retired 2nd in runs, 3rd in walks

OF Whitey Murphy - 136 - .360 BA

LF Mick Rooker - 155 - Retired 1st and HR and 1st in Runs

SS Chuck Sciarraba - 114 - Retired as most productive hitting SS ever

CF Milton Shifman - 145 - 3 BOTY

OF Carl Swagger - 127 - Great gap and power

3B Hiram Webber - 121- 9 Gold Gloves

New on Ballot

SS Frank Albanese - 109 - 246 HR, most ever for a SS

OF Tom Axelrod - 102 - 1051 SB

SS Zolly Bosco - 122 - .341 BA

CF Ron Caribou - 125 - 1 BOTY

CF Bowler Channing - 133 - 5 Tool Player

C Hal Demarest - 118 - 3 Gold Gloves

C Eddie Deal - 123 - 7 Gold Gloves

3B Dick Deustch - 137 - Only player to win BOTY as a rookie

SS Isaac Flick - 122 - Maybe best hitting SS ever

OF Roy "Ripper" Harrison - 135 - Retired 1st in doubles

1B/3B Arnold Kellogg - 125 - 3 BOTY

CF Alfred Reed - 125 - 6 Gold Gloves

Looking over the current HOF. How did Arch Murtaugh make it? On what merit?

We credit players with their contributions to the game pre-1901. Not actual numbers, but it can be assumed that players who were older and quite good at the start of the century had a career that started in the decade prior.

Even without doing that, Murtaugh won 3 POTY. And 125 wins after turning 33. Its reasonable to estimate he would have around 300 for his career if we knew all the numbers. He's not the greatest pitcher ever, but definitely deserving.

Damn, I see Roepe already got two votes. I was hoping he'd slide to the VC so I could get him in sooner. Now he'll have to sit here for a while, cause he ain't getting in over a lot of the guys on this ballot.

My vote will be up later today or tomorrow.

Yeah, I noticed his age in 1901 later, I would put him in also.
