Also, makes me wonder. On an infield fly, I know the batter is out - to prevent the easy "drop, throw to 3rd, throw to 2nd - double play". But can it still result in a double play ?

IE. SS catches it, the runner on 3rd isn't on the bag - toss to third .. double play ?
Something similar happened Wednesday night on Opening Day to my team.

Runners on 1st and 2nd, hitter pops it up to the shortstop. Shortstop accidentally drops the ball (it was an accident as the got caught in the wind). Runner on 1st starts sprinting like a maniac to second, though, everyone in the dugout is screaming, "Noooo!"

Shortstop throws to second, runner is tagged out. Double Play.

Killed a good inning.
