cant hire coaches

i just realized now I can hire assistant coaches for my minor league team. but when I went to do so it said I had no money. so I checked my finances in my minor league team and I had negative money. ok fine. but my NHL team has tons of money. why is it depended on the money of the minor league team to hire minor league coaches?

I know that cant be real life. does it make sense that the NHL clubs would sent there draft picks to develop in the minors and the minors have no money to hire additional coaches that could help them develop faster? no the NHL team would pay for there coaches just like minor league teams in baseball.

Your NHL coaches actually influence the development of any players who are contracted to you, even if they're not on your active roster - you don't need to hire more specifically for the minor league team.

Actually depends on what league your playing. ECHL teams hire/fire their own coaches. AHL teams coaches are normally under contract from the NHL parent club.
