Cleveland had such a great season going, up on the Blue Jays by as many as 5 games at one point in September.

The Tribe faltered down the stretch, losing 8 of their last 10, to end the season at 90-72, 1 game back from the division and the two wildcard spots.

We are super bummed to not have made the playoffs, but here are some bright spots:

Michael Brantley won the batting crown, hitting .317 with 17 HR and 79 RBI. Vizquel hit .302, and Baerga hit .299.

Early Wynn and Bert Blyleven both won 17 games, while the team's bullpen led the league in ERA. This is a team that needs better production out of its starting pitching, as well as improved defense.

At 2,666 PP, Cleveland can't make any improvements as we head into another season in Bronze. We just have to hope that Charles Nagy (6-15, 4.86 ERA) and Wes Ferrell (8-8, 4.67 ERA) improve from the mound, and Jim Thome (.214), Carlos Santana (.224) and Victor Martinez (.224) each improve with the bat.

The Cleveland Legends start this season in Bronze 256, hoping to break a 3-year playoff drought. The team has improved each season in Bronze, notching 80, 83 and 90 wins, respectively, but just can't get over the hump.

Headed into this season, Cleveland sits with 3,066 PP. We'll be stockpiling assets until we can afford a diamond-level live pitcher, or possibly an upper-Gold historical legend.

The only changes in ratings:
Shane Bieber continues to drop, now at a 79
Carlos Santana is back up at a 75
Brad Hand is back into Silver, at 71

The starting rotation will be: Early Wynn, Wes Ferrell, Bert Blyleven, George Uhle and Charles Nagy.

No other MLB League teams are in the same division as the Tribe, however the Giants, Tigers, Red Sox, Orioles, Mariners, Twins and Rockies are each represented in Bronze 256.

As we head into June, Cleveland is at 26-26 and 6.5 games back from the division lead. It appears that the malaise the team was in last September has continued into this year.

Who's Hot?
Wes Ferrell: 2 G, 2-0, 1.20 ERA, 15 IP, 7 K (6-1, 2.63 ERA overall)

Who's not?
Vic Power: 10 G, 1 for 23 (luckily he's not a starter...)
Carlos Santana: 8 G, 3 for 29 (.290, 6 HR, 25 RBI overall)
Omar Vizquel: 6 G, 3 for 24 (.288, 2 HR, 13 RBI overall)

Michael Brantley leads the team at the bat, hitting .301/.335/.428 with 4 HR

Cleveland ranks basically in the middle for all offensive and defensive categories (fitting for a .500 team) aside from Bullpen ERA, where they're 13th.

PP status: 4,576, and saving for either: Francisco Lindor Rookie; Joe Gordon; Carlos Carrasco

All Star Break Update

The Cleveland Legends signed Rookie Francisco Lindor (87) on June 10. He did not immediately take over at SS or 2B, however, as Omar Vizquel and Carlos Baerga have been playing very well — Baerga and Jim Thome were the team's two All Stars. Thome, Baerga, Vizquel and Michael Brantley lead the everyday starters with +.282 batting averages.

Of course, Cleveland sits 6.5 games back in the division with a middling 47-48 record. We can't score runs or keep other teams from scoring — 10th in the conference in both stats, despite having a top-4 offense in every other offensive category outside of Home Runs.

Wes Ferrell leads pitchers with a 9-6 record and 3.59 ERA. Brad Hand has plummeted this season after a solid 2024 season. He's got a 1-8 record with 21 saves and a 5.06 ERA, and 4 blown saves.

Lindor has played nearly every day between 2nd, SS and 3rd, and is hitting .309/.382/.368.

The team currently sits at 2,206 PP, with an eye toward bolstering the pitching staff soon.

I was so disappointed that Bieber dropped down to a silver. He's been pitching well this season IRL, so I'm not really understanding the decline in his overall rating .
Regardless, keep up the good fight. I'm well aware that managing an all-Indians team in PT can be a challenge.

Yeah, Bieber just hasn’t been good in PT. I’m hoping that’ll turn around later on. On track to have one of my best records yet in Bronze, but my team is in 4th place in the division and 1 game out of the wildcard. Sitting on 3,500 PP. plan for now is to save for Carrasco. I have an all gold starting rotation, which I figured would fly in Bronze, but pitching is very much the team’s Achilles heel.

No Playoff Magic for Cleveland

The Cleveland Legends have failed to make the playoffs for a 4th consecutive season, despite finishing above .500 for the 3rd straight season. Their 82-80 record was 12 games back in the division and 4.5 games back in the wildcard.

Cleveland had yet another September Swoon, in what is becoming a trend, going 10-19 over the last month.

This season, the team largely underperformed. Next season, rookie Lindor will take the place of Omar Vizquel at SS, though Vizquel's team-leading bat will find a place on the roster. Cleveland will also take their 4,176 PP and try to upgrade, targeting the pitching staff primarily.

Bronze 221

Cleveland kicks off the 2026 season in Bronze 221, there are no other MLB-themed teams in the league for the first time in the Bronze level. This is Cleveland's 5th straight season in Bronze, and the hope is that we'll finally at least crack the playoffs, even if we fall short of promotion.

Player updates:
Rookie Francisco Lindor will take over at SS for longtime star, 1997 Omar Vizquel. Omar has been a fan and manager favorite over his 5 seasons with the Legends, but the team can really use Lindor's superior defense. In Omar's five seasons as the full-time guy, he slashed .295/.348/.382 and built up a 22.0 overall WAR.

The only Live players on the daily roster continue to go down in ratings, or stay the same. Shane Bieber is at 79, Carlos Santana's down to a 72, and Brad Hand is back in Bronze at a 68.

We have 4,176 PP to play with right now. The only potential upgrades right now in our price range would be 1927 Rookie Pitcher Wes Hudlin (83), Future Legend SS Tyler Freeman (84) and All-Star C Ray Fosse (87). For now, we're sitting on the PP and saving for a possible diamond-level player.

Starting lineup:
Lindor (87, SS)
Brantley (77, LF)
Thome (75, playing 1B)
Al Smith (79, DH)
Carlos Baerga (76, 2B)
Jim Piersall (80, CF)
Fryman (79, 3B)
Victor Martinez (84, C. Victor is hitting just .224 in 1.5 seasons...and his fielding has disappointed as well)
Kenny Lofton (75, RF)

Rotation:
Wes Ferrell (89)
Early Wynn (86)
Bert Blyleven (84)
George Uhle (84)
Charles Nagy (84)

The 'pen includes Brad Hand as closer, then Shane Bieber (79), Bob Lemon (77) and Steve Mingori (78).

Breaking news: We are adding Adam Cimber (Live, 76) to the bullpen. He's taking the place of backup 2B Vic Power (64) to give the team 7 arms in the bullpen now.

The club now has 3,776 PP to sit on as we start the season.

There's an 88 Sam McDowell card that goes in the 4000 range. I don't see him in the AH very often, but he's been a solid starting pitcher for my Indians team.
Good luck to the Legends this year!

Thanks! I've seen that one occasionally, and just haven't been sure about going after another Gold...my current set of gold SPs has been largely underwhelming (Charles Nagy...) But I realize that everyone is not created equally.

April 28, 2026 Update

Record: 20-8, 1.5 games up in the division
Best achievement this season: April 10: Down and Out: 16 runs scored in a shutout victory

Stats:
Starting lineup:
Lindor (87, SS): .255, 3 HR, 19 RBI
Brantley (77, LF): .228, 3 HR, 12 RBI
Thome (75, playing 1B): .378, 7 HR, 19 RBI
Al Smith (79, DH): .207, 3 HR, 12 RBI
Carlos Baerga (76, 2B): .293, 4 HR, 13 RBI
Jim Piersall (80, CF): .277, 2 HR, 8 RBI
Fryman (79, 3B) .200, 0 HR, 10 RBI
Victor Martinez (84, C), .346, 3 HR, 17 RBI
Kenny Lofton (75, RF): .307, 1 HR, 8 RBI

Rotation:
Wes Ferrell (89): 2-0, 3.10 ERA
Early Wynn (86): 3-2, 3.32 ERA
Bert Blyleven (84): 3-2, 3.92 ERA
George Uhle (84): 3-1, 3.24 ERA
Charles Nagy (84): 3-1, 4.08 ERA

Brad Hand (68): 11 Saves, 0.82 ERA

Cleveland ranks in the top 4 in every offensive category, and in the top 5 in every pitching/defensive category (except for strikeouts, at 8th).

Newcomer reliever Adam Cimber has a 3.86 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP in 7 IP. More importantly...having a 7th pitcher in the bullpen is allowing the pitching staff to spread out a little. Small sample size for sure, but this is the first season in Bronze that we've not been near the bottom in starter and/or bullpen ERA. (which now means May could be horrible...but hey...)

PP Status: 5,426

July 30, 2026 Update

Cleveland is in the middle of a great season, and unless the wheels completely fall off in August and September, should cruise to their first playoff berth in their 5 Bronze League seasons.

The club is 67-41, leading 2nd place Bradenton by 9 games, and currently has the best record in the entire league by a half game.

The Legends had just two all stars: Sandy Alomar Jr. and Jim Thome, who was the top vote getter.

Alomar, who splits time with Victor Martinez at C, is slashing .314/.351/.562 with 12 HR in 56 games. Compared to Martinez, at .284/.331/.479 with 9 HR in 57 games.

Thome is finally having a good season at the plate, slashing .292/.485/.508 with 18 HR in 91 starts. He leads the conference in OPS.

Francisco Lindor, in his first full season as the starting shortstop, is slashing .274/.348/.373, and has a 3.2 WAR through 101 games. He's got a +13.6 zone rating at SS, and has also played a handful of games at 2B and 3B as the team's one true utility infielder.

Omar Vizquel has replaced the struggling Al Smith as DH. Al was hitting .218. Omar, in 75 games combined at DH or SS, is slashing .347/.407/.462, and leads the conference in batting average.

CF Jim Piersall has the team's 2nd highest average, at .315, and has netted a 3.6 WAR so far. His defense is a +7.1 Zone Rating.

Cleveland is 1st place offensively in every category except Home Runs (t-10th) and Base Running (12th).

For pitching, starters are 5th in ERA at 3.95, and the bullpen is 1st at 2.56.

Charles Nagy is having a bounceback year, with an 11-5 record and a 3.78 ERA.

The team added Trevor Bauer (92) in early May. In 15 games, Bauer is 5-4 with a 2.85 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP and 95 Ks in 91.2 IP.

Brad Hand is having a good year, with 28 saves and 4 blown saves, and a 2.30 ERA.

Adam Cimber — added in the offseason — has a 2.45 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 42 Ks in 36.2 IP.

Gary Bell leads the bullpen in ERA with a 0.43 in 21 IP.

The club has outperformed expectations so far this season, and is hoping to keep it up through the final two months!

Aug. 30 report

Cleveland has a commanding 13.5-game lead as we head into the season's final month. They are tied for the best record in the entire league, with a magic number of 16.

The club added 2B Joe Gordon midway through July to replace Baerga, mostly for defensive reasons. Gordon's 12 for 28 with 2 HR in the last 8 games.

Vizquel continues to tear it up as the team's DH.

Cleveland is sitting on 1,676 PP right now, and is content to stay there throughout the remainder of the season, in hopes of adding a big piece if/when we move up to Silver next season!

Cleveland Moves onto Sub-League Series!

Cleveland won in 5 games to make it to the Sub-League Series, securing promotion to the Silver Level next season!

The team is also adding 1934 SP Mel Harder to the club, in as a long reliever for the remainder of the playoffs. Hoping his high movement provides some punch for the long run.

Cleveland reaches the Bronze League World Series!

It came down to the end, and involved some heroics from Jim Thome with a 3-run HR in the 1st inning of game 7, and Brad Hand hanging on in the 9th as the Padres loaded the bases, down 4, with 0 outs. Cleveland hung on to win the game by 2.

Charle Nagy pitched a heckuva game, giving up 3 runs in 8.0 IP — 2 of those runs were given up after Hand came into the game.

The Tribe takes on the Shreveport SwampDragons, who won 89 games in the regular season, but were 2-2 against Cleveland. Could we be in-store for yet another lengthy series? Wes Ferrell takes the mound in game 1 vs. Noah Syndergaard. Cleveland would love to toss Trevor Bauer out there, but Bauer is still tired from pitching in Game 6 of the Sub-League Series.

We Are the Champions!

Cleveland has won the Bronze League Championship, 4 games to 2 against Shreveport, capping off a great season and a great run.

Michael Brantley was named MVP of the World Series.

Of course this means Cleveland is now moving up to Silver. A couple of rating notes:
Trevor Bauer dropped to an 89 from a 92, immediately losing much of his bought value from last season — but we won a World Series, including a game 3 win by Bauer, so who cares?

Shane Bieber has dropped to a 78 (despite throwing an IRL complete game shutout with 15 Ks.)

Brad Hand is back up to a 71

Carlos Santana is down to a 73

The club had 4,996 PP at the end of the season. In addition to Mel Harder, who was added during the Playoff run and pitched in 4 games in relief, the club has now signed lefty 1970 starter Sam McDowell (88), a pitcher with great Stuff and a really nasty Curveball.
