In the bottom of the first, Wynn got things started in 1973 with a three run homer.

In the bottom of the second, Wynn did it again! This time it was a two out three run homer.

In the bottom of the third, Kubiak scored on a wild pitch. Burroughs followed with a two out RBI double. Denny O'Toole took the mound for the White Sox after the Burroughs double.

In the top of the fourth, Hermann scored when Leon grounded into the 4-6-3 double play.

In the bottom of the fifth, Harrah hit a two out RBI single.

In the top of the first, the White Sox loaded the bases with one out. Melton went down swinging at strike three for the second out. Hermann, however, sent one 370 feet to right for a grand slam.

Johnson was perfect through three.

After three: Chicago 4 Texas 0.

In the bottom of the fourth, Harrah hit a one outsingle to give the Rangers their first base runner of the game.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Rangers loaded the bases with nobody out. Burroughs hit a threerun double to make it a one run game. Two walks later and once again the bases were loaded with nobody out. Biittner tied the game with an RBI single. Harris grounded into the 6-2 fielder's choice for the first out. Billings hit a sacrifice fly that brought Nelson home with the go-ahead run. Kubiak brought two more home with a two out double. Steve Kealey took the mound with Kubiak at second. Maddox singled but May threw Kubiak out at home as he tried to score from second. Seven runs were scored in the inning.

After six: Texas 7 Chicago 4.

After a leadoff single in the top of the seventh, Horacio Pina took the mound for the White Sox. Allen brought a run in with a single. Melton brought one in with a sacrifice fly to make it a one run game.

Harrah led off the bottom of the seventh with a home run. May did it again, throwing Burroughs out at home as he tried to score from second on a Biittner single.

After a leadoff off single in the top of the ninth, Mike Paul took the mound for the Rangers. Allen tied the game with a two run homer.

Terry Forster took the mound for the White Sox in the bottom of the ninth. The Rangers got a leadoff walk but no more as Nelson grounded to third with the winning run at first and two out.

After nine: Chicago 8 Texas 8.

In the bottom of the tenth, with runners at first and second and two out, Maddox flew out to right.

Ray Burris took the mound for the Rangers in the top of the eleventh.

Vicente Romo took the mound for the White Sox in the bottom of the eleventh. With runners at first and second and two out, Don Mincher delivered a pinch hit RBI single to give the Rangers the sweep.

The two teams combined for 26 hits in the contest.Jorge Orta set a White Sox team record for hits in a regular season extra-inning game with 5.

In the top of the second, Kubiak put the Rangers on the board with an RBI single. A walk to Maddox followed and bases were loaded with one out. All three baserunners then scored on a Harrah double.

In the bottom of the second, despite not having a hit in the game yet, the Royals loaded the bases with one out. Schaal drew the Royals fourth walk of the inning to force in a run. Patek then drew a four pitch walk to force in another run. Otis walked on a full count pitch to force in another run. Mayberry walked to force in the tying run. Oliver hit a sacrifice fly to put the Royals in the lead.

After issuing a two out walk in the bottom of the third, Stanhouse left the game with a leg injury. Casey Cox took the mound for the Rangers.
