Unsigned Draftees

There's a glitch in the OOTP feeder system where undrafted high school players will sit out and return the next year instead of going to college. At the same time, not all NCAA teams are at their roster limit because the game doesn't run a roster check prior to the season starting.

I'm going to partially fix that. I take the top 10-15 high school draftees that failed to sign and manually put them into college, hopefully one near where they grew up.

The players that become eligible for the draft in the offseason (turn 18 after June 5) are able to play high school the following season, even though they are technically too old. That is nice because it allows for all players to have the chance of being drafted.

1901 Free Agency Summary

Here's where the top free agents landed this year. Nate Clements proved that loyalty means nothing to him and jumped from the Braves to the Marlins and it looks like the Padres were extremely busy!

1902 Top 100 Prospects

LF Jonathan Burleson--the number one draft prospect last year--is the overall top prospect in baseball this year. Dave Sweet, who was drafted in the first round by the Braves in 1900 despite having a torn labrum, returned to form last year and was named the top pitching prospect. Sweet was born in North Druid Hills, GA, just 16 miles from SunTrust Park.

1902 Draft Top 100

3-time NCAA All-Star Kevin Caperton out of NMSU is ranked as the top draft prospect this year. Joe Ramage also returns to the draft, this time expecting a little bit less of a signing bonus.

I turn off the Advanced Draftee Signing feature because I'm not a big fan of guys not signing.

Thanks for doing this. I've played your quickstart a couple of times. Fun to see some familiar names on different teams.

Unsigned Draftees

Somehow the draft bonus baseline got turned down to $0 so no draftees had signing issues this year. I do enjoy those high schoolers that have to go onto college so was slightly disappointed not to see any this year.
