The experts have spoken and they are calling for the NL pennant to come to Brooklyn! They are expecting a 9 game lead over the 2nd place Giants.

For the AL it seems that the Philadelphia Athletics could unseat the Highlanders.

And why are they calling for such a good showing for the Superbas?

The same reason why Eddie Plank has gone to the bullpen.

The top 4 projected pitchers in the NL are:
Christy Mathewson
Bill Bailey
Johnny Lush
Bill Burns

Sherry Magee of the Giants is expected to be the best batter, with Sam Crawford coming in 4th and Cale Bernard in 9th.

For the AL the tops are Orval Overall of the Athletics and Ty Cobb of the Browns. (They have Cy Young as the 5th best pitcher.)

The writers published their top prospect list. We have Mike Thompson, a reliever in A-ball at #3.

Considering the names he is behind (Tris Speaker and Shoeless Joe Jackson) that is quite a compliment!

We have been named the #1 minor league system in baseball.

A 1-1 game that held until the 13th when Eddie Plank, of all people, gave up FIVE runs to lose to the Doves 6-1.

This has people talking... is Eddie angry about his move to the 'pen? Is it affecting his performance?

WP - George Winter (1-0)
LP - Eddie Plank (0-1)

Record - 0-2

The Giants were scheduled to come to town today but it was rained out. The 20th is now a double-header.

TRADE

A disgruntled Eddie Plank helps nobody. It is risky to trade with a rival, but here goes...

To PIRATES

Eddie Plank
Andrew Craig
Fernando Cabrera

To SUPERBAS

Mordecai 'Three-Finger' Brown
Daniel Hurst (PIT retains 15% of salary)
David Smith
Terry Beath
Olve Horten

Brown joins the big club.

Antonio Perez is sent to AAA.

Adam Schmidt is called up.
