August 1st 1879 Update

Syracuse and Philadelphia are trading games in a very close match up that could decide who will advance to the World Series. The Athletics are led by Bobby Mitchell (13-4) and
Sam Weaver (11-6). Stars are led by Fred Goldsmith (17-8) and Al Pratt (17-8). Hardy Richardson keeps the fans wanting more, he again was named the Rookie of the Month.
Troy on the other hand is trying to fend off the Cincinnati Reds as the Reds have won five straight. Troy's Lee Richmond started off hot at 10-2 but has cooled off at 12-7.

October 1879 Update

A close race at the beginning of September turned into a nightmare for the Stars, we fall to 7.5 games behind Philadelphia.
The Athletics got hot at 15-3. The National League race tightened up with Troy rebounding. New York is trying to hold on to hopefully make a run.
