This league is just starting the offseason going into it’s 20th season. Due to several different circumstances we have to fill several spots this offseason. We usually sim 3 times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) 7 days at a time. The league offers an extremely active chat on Slack. Participation is strongly recommended but is not required. Participation does not mean all day every day like some do. The more you put into the league the more you will get out of it. What is a requirement is that you be active managing your team. We all have lives and understand sometimes you don’t have time but if you miss more than half of the exports you may be asked to leave. This league all offers teams to be rewarded for writing monthly emails to talk about something league related. These do not have to be extremely long, but you will be rewarded with participation points or PP. PP can be cashed in each offseason for some upgrades to teams, players, etc. League does use stats+ and we do our drafts on it as well.
Of the five teams open they are in different situations.
Team 1- Went to the playoffs last season but is reaching a breaking point. Players are leaving to FA, young talent is getting more expensive and the farm is bare. There is a plus side they do have money!
Team 2- Mostly coming out of a black hole. This team is pretty much completely broken down and is now ready for a rebuild. Team has money…lots of money and some minor league talent (15th ranked farm).
Team 3- This place is a dumpster fire. This team has the most major league talent but is aging and over paid. Last season they were destroyed by injuries which lead them to go from playoff team to #6 in this upcoming draft. While I believe you can still squeeze a few more winning seasons out of this team if healthy I do think dark days are coming for them. Also, some of the overpaid players are still tradable.
Team 4 &5- I am going to lump these two together. They have not been very successful, farms are not the best, money is not there. Any success you bring to these franchises will be because of you. One has a handful of mid 20’s talent than the other but both need a lot of work and patience done to them.
If you are new to OOTP or online, please do no be afraid of any team. No matter how good or bad of a position a team is in each faces their own challenges.
