Exclamation Please Read This If You're Using High Sierra!

Hi all,

We recently run into an issue where a few users who are using High Sierra have been getting crashes while trying to play a 3d game after upgrading High Sierra to 10.13.

We've traced the issue to a bug with the latest video card drivers that come with that update for Intel 5000 cards. Since this is an Apple issue, it's not something we can fix for now. Hopefully Apple will fix it in their next driver/OS update.

In the meantime if you play OOTP on High Sierra, you have a few options. The first one is not to upgrade to 10.13 for now, until the bug is fixed.

If that's not an option, or you've already upgraded, there are a couple other workarounds to try.

If you go into the 'Settings' menu on OOTP's start screen, then go to '3d & Facegen', you'll see an option to set 'Audience Quality'. Set this to 'Low', and you should be good to play out a game in 3d again with no issues. Or you can try changing 'Audience Detail' to 'Simplified', which should also work.

If you try the above and still have problems, please let us know, either here or by filling out a support ticket.

Another option (if you are using time capsule) is to revert backwards.

There's another issue in High Sierra, where the game crashes if you try to enter split view.

This happens for example if you are playing in full screen, and click on an email or message notification.

macOS tries to switch the game to split view and open the notifying app in split view side by side with the game, but the game just crashes.

EDIT: This has been fixed.
