Couple of strange random things from OOTP 15
I recently found some weird things in a couple of test leagues in OOTP15. I'm not sure if the nicknames files have been changed from the last version, but I haven't come across either of these before. This is all out-of-the-box, un-modded stuff.
The first is an unsettling player nickname: I've never seen this nickname come up before since I started with OOTP11. Not sure if I should laugh or be offended. Just sort of scratching my head. How does that nickname have anything to do with anything? The next, more on the humorous side: Discuss. |

We need an option to turn nicknames off.

Note that Chicago did, indeed, finish first in their division.

You should be perma banned from these forums if you ever dare even think about changing Chicago's name.

I find that first nickname kind of perverse -- even on the outside chance that it means Carl is a cancer in the clubhouse.

In my fictional league, I have a player in my college feeder league with the "melanoma" nickname. Needless to say, I've already deleted it, as I've also been deleting all nicknames I run across.

What's even stupider (is that a word?) is have five 17-year olds with the same Mexican name in the same HS feeder league.

There's a nickname that just shouts "Go big or go home."

Can't you do away with nicknames by simply blanking the nicknames folder? I put in Questdogs first names and names and put his name on blank folder for nicknames and I'm not getting any when I start a game.
And, yes, I for one think Melanoma is inappropriate. As for the Cocks, there are numerous high school and college teams that go by that (albeit, as the shortened but popular form of Gamecoacks) |

Plus, you really shouldn't have to edit a database file just to turn nicknames off. |

That's nothing. I had six Mexicans kids with the same first and last name in my high school.
