I for one am happy for the change and wish nothing but the best for Markus & Andreas and for Marc & SI. I've been a supporter of SI from when they were publishing ChampMan all the way through the latest Football Manager and was one of those who were really excited that both of my favorite games would be under the same umbrella. But as the relationship went on it seemed there was always an "arm's length" between the two; especially with the relative inactivity on the SI community board regarding OOTP (aside from the odd xenophobic "joke" at our expense in The Third Half). So I like the break... it had already happened in my mind so now I don't seem quite so crazy.

Markus would it be accurate to say that you may have an unofficial ongoing relationship with SI? Just not the partnership that could lead to shared liability. Strike that, you probably couldn't answer it anyway.

The newsletter e-mails are going out as we speak, but there's a lot of them. Delivery times may vary. And remember, they're going to whatever e-mail address you registered when you bought the game, not what your forum account is registered as!
I'll post the newsletter on the forums later on tonight, I think. There will also be a second newsletter (which frankly has juicier news) next week. Just out of time this week! |

Yes, there was an appeal filed, but the case is a lost cause. The original judge's decision was made based on extensive case history involving simulation games and publication of player information in the public domain. MLB has basically no chance of winning, but it will go through the motions and hope for a miracle.

That's odd. I've received every newsletter prior to this one. Don't know why it didn't come through.
Perhaps it hasn't been sent yet. |

I am thrilled with this development.
I had NOTHING but problems with Marc Duffy and his company...up to and including being banned from his forums for having a yahoo.com e-mail account. Good riddance to rubbish. OOTP Developments doesn't need ignorant and arrogant trash like that. |

I don't see why they waited to post it. The people who check the boards everyday should get news first. Shouldn't email newsletters should be more to remind customers of the product of news that they might not otherwise find out about?

This is very strange. I didn't receive the newsletter, and I always have gotten them in the past.
Possibly .. it hasn't been sent yet ? |

Battists posted earlier in this thread that they went out at around 2-3 PM yesterday. Also, there's a link in a post by Andreas above to an HTML version of the newsletter, so they're clearly done.
