Interleague schedules beyond 2015
If you want to rotate interleague schedules for your modern MLB setups you are limited to repeating 2013, 2014, and 2015 over and over again. I didn't like that, so I made up so new schedules that feature randomized matchups, while still preserving rivalry matchups.
The real life interleague matchups in 2015 feature playing the rival 6 times, 2 other teams 4 times and the other 2 teams 2 times. I couldn't copy that; the best I could do was playing the rival 7 times, 1 other team 4 times, and the other teams 3 times. There is 1 matchup (Yankees vs. Mets); I've got them going head-to-head 8 times and 3 times against the other 4 teams. I think the hard part is done and I could make a bunch more if there is any demand. These schedules should provide the proper matchups if you are using 2013, 2014 and 2015 and getting the proper matchups. Edit: Since I did these, MLB changed the rivalries, so the 2019 schedule is not completely accurate for some rivalry games. Only 2018 and 2021 are correct, now.

I figured out another way to make schedule variations and I was able to make a variation of 2015 with the proper number of interleague games being played among the 5 possible opponents. In real life the 20 games were broken down 6-4-4-3-3, but in my 2018 schedule the best I could do was 7-4-3-3-3 in 14 pairings and 8-3-3-3-3 in 1 pairing.
With my new method, I got the real life pairings of 6-4-4-3-3 for all teams. The new method involves massive cutting and pasting of the real 2015 schedule. First, I changed all the team IDs to the 3 letter abbreviation, then replaced these with the team ID of a different team. For example, Boston is team ID=2, so I replaced Baltimore "BLT" with "2". Since, Boston's rival is Philadelphia,. team ID=19, I had to replace "WAS" (Baltimore's rival) with "19" and so on for all 30 teams. I forgot that since 2018 is an even-numbered year, Boston's rival should have been Atlanta, so that is why this schedule is labeled 2021.

Shouldn't it have been 4-4-3-3-3-3 in most years?

Yes, I think that was true in 2013 and 2014, but in 2015 each team has just 5 opponents, so the rival is played 6 times and 4-4-3-3 against the other teams in the division.
