Weird AI PossibleTrade Situation

First a caveat- I'm playing version 12 but since that part of the board seems abandoned I figure I'd try my luck here.

I have a 41 year old reliever who was once a 500+ save closer. He's now in middle relief with a 40/40 rating. His stats are a brutal 6.35 ERA in 11.1 IP's.
Now for a lark, I went into Player Trade and chose one of the best SS in the league with a 74/74 rating, 26 years old and batting .309 with 8 HR's in 149 AB's.

The AI trade setting is set at Hard, but the SS's team is willing to part with $10,000,000 in cash and their best player for my decrepit ex-closer. In fact, every team in my league is willing to part with their best players and almost the same amount of cash for my guy!

What the heck gives? Does he have uncompromising pictures of all the league's GM's?

This is the only player I have on my team that is in such a dilemma

Is the AI trade setting set to heavily favor veterans?

Try these settings, this is what I use and have never had a problem like that:

AI Eval: 40/30/20/10
Trading: Average/Hard/Favor Prospects

Batter aging: .250
Batter dev.: 1.000
Pitcher aging: .350
Pitcher dev.: .900
TCR: 50

Trading AI was overhauled (vastly for the better) in v13, so a lot of the oddball stuff you might see in v12 may have been long forgotten by many of the people posting here, myself included.

What effect does aging development and TCR settings have on trading?

I am not sure I agree with this. What is the problem with 1.000? (defaults)

None, as far as I'm aware. Though they obviously should.

It doesn't that I know of. I copied and pasted from this thread and forgot to cut that part off. Its the AI Eval that I wanted and trade settings. I have that thread bookmarked to double check my settings when creating a new league since 2012.

Hmm. I was afraid of that. I guess I'll have to splurge and buy the latest version. Although, except for this anomaly, my experience with trading with the AI in version 12 has been great. I wondered that if in my example my closer was considered better than what my scout was rating him at or that his popularity was an asset for any team to trade everything for, but I can't seem to figure out the attraction this guy has. Ah well, great for me I guess, I get rid of a guy that's no longer of any use for a great player and tons of cash... Thanks for everyone who responded.
