OOTP 20 Review

Can someone give a review!? I'm waiting for a review before buying since I'm strongly opposed to pre-ordering games & frankly it looks identical to 19. I'm curious if the coaching system is still broken? Or does it actually matter who your coaches are now? Does online mode still suck? Also is the AI still broken? Can you still find 80 potential guys on the waiver wire/free agency and build a dynasty in 1 year with no problem? Is the AI still not protecting their hot prospects from the Rule 5? Thanks would love to know before buying.

I'm not convinced that basically asking, does the game still suck? to a bunch of folks who likely mostly don't share that base assumption with you is going to yield great results here.

This is a pretty poor way of asking for thoughts on a game that literally came out about an hour ago. You seem to already have a negative perception of the game. I doubt anyone telling you the game is good, which it is, (and so was last year's) is going to change your mind.

Should also be noted that asking for a thorough review of options that require playing through at least a season (if not more) within an hour of the release of the beta is kind of asking a lot.

And for what it's worth, saying a part of the game is "broken" without expounding on what you think makes it broken really doesn't give a good sense of how to respond to you other than "no, it's not broken for me!"

OOTP has never put out anything besides the deepest best sports sim out there so I'll more than happy hand over that pre order. Ive never experieced 5 star potential guys in free agency... except for the ones that are 30 mil a year

The AI constantly releases very high potential guys (or either fails to protect them), forcing us to disable the potential ratings if we want a more realistic and difficult approach. That is a fact bro.

Uh, I have no idea what you are talking about. If you are having these issues, feel free to submit a bug report and submit your league to Markus. However, my guess is this is a troll post as, if this was the case, OOTP would not be considered one of the best (if not THE BEST) baseball sim out there.

I have to say that this is for me at least, THE best edition of OOTP. You guys are going to love the animations, especially the pitcher! Now having said that, I still have a lot I need to test out for a live stream later, but, I am really disappointed that the All-Time Great Quickstart was not worked on. Yes, that's right, Ernie Banks STILL isn't on the Cubs' All-Time roster! Like others, I have found some glaring omissions on other franchises as well.

Anyhow, I hope to provide an in-depth review either immediately after a live stream or else provide the review DURING it.

So far, so GREAT OOTP team!

Yup... I loved the All Time Franchise last year til I saw Mr Cub wasn't on it etc.. I would love for this to be fixed

I definitely agree! While I do season replays and "what-ifs" and tournaments, I think that the All-Time Greats Quickstart should be a strong component of the game. I hope that the devs will study a bit of history - or hire us - and fix this Quickstart.

I just want to say that deGrom took a 3-2 lead into the 8th and turned it over to the Mets bullpen, who then proceeded to give up 3 to the Nats and we lose thanks to Avilan and Vargas.

So, totally, 100% UNREALISTIC! Broken! And I WANT MY MONEY BACK.
