Opening Day Rosters With September Transactions (Updated)

Hey guys!

Some of you may've seen and been using the September roster update we just released last week: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=281828

We wanted to improve on that a bit though, since it had a few missing transactions and also didn't include the international or indy leagues.

So instead of a quickstart, here's a new default.wtp file. If you want to use this, here's how to do so:

Navigate to your main OOTP data folder and then to the folder called world_templates. For most default installations of the game on Windows you should be able to find it at C:\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 18\world_templates

Once you get there make a backup of the file already in that folder called default.wtp

Then unzip this file into the folder. Then start the game as normal, select the 'standard game' option and then pick which leagues you'd like to include. Then the game will create a new universe for you using these updated rosters!

So if you want to play out the year and see how your team would have done with its current rosters all year, now you can do so.

The rosters are updated to reflect the end of the season rosters from this year in MLB and most of the International Leagues (there may be a few missing transactions in the Int leagues and ratings haven't been updated for them yet).

Just be aware that not everything is fully updated 100% even in MLB and MiLB. So some rookies who ended the year in the majors may not start off there here and there may be a few guys who didn't get rating boosts or nerfs that fully reflect what they did this year. Plus 2017 draftees and amateur fa signings are not updated to their new teams.

Are Injures updated to end of season? Personal to today with like Mets/Tigers/Red Sox's looking for a Manager Braves a GM,Royals a Hitting Coach and so on? Maybe as a Saved Game to Juan Nisacio still on Phils not Cardinals.

These rosters are from September, not October.

Yes but says end of season so September moves are missing,Adam Eaton and so on who's out for season on DL.
Also maybe a Historical League Transactions/Lineup out of it for 2017-18 season that goes up to October Staff/Personal moves and as of ALCS/NLCS date.

Click on the GO menu item at the top of your screen, while holding down the shift key. This will allow the Library item to show up on the GO list. Click on Library, then navigate this sequence:

Library/Application Support/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 18/world_templates

That should do it.

am i mistaken or do none of these rosters have any of the J2 free agents?

Quite a few should be in.

They should show up once the amateur free agents for the first signing period show up in game.

It seems the patch works like a charm.

Besides, as developer says, some players have better ratings(for instance, I have never seen before Byron Buxton starts with 3 stars).

And again, as developer says, maybe some minor mistakes(such as some injured players not on disabled list or some high level players are placed in AA).

I forgot to make backup files, let's hope it is fine.

i've looked up most of MLB.com's top 30 and cant find even one in the editor

Just wondering if anyone is running into a problem where no teams have money for free agents in the offseason?

If it happens, with these rosters or in any league for that matter, you should just be able to recalculate the team finances and things should be ok.

Yes, I did have this issue. I ran recalc team finances and while they are not perfect, it is reasonable enough to likely not impact your game moving forward.

Check and make sure that the filter for Position says 'All Players' and not 'All Pitchers'

How do I go about doing this for my league?

Under Game-Settings-League, there is a line that says to recalculate team finances, I believe. Sorry, not at my computer at the moment but saw no one had replied to you. That should get you there.

Does this change players contracts? Or just something that makes adjustments to the teams.

It only changes the teams’ finances. Suggestion, in Explorer, save a copy of your game file as a backup, then try the finance reset. That way, if you don’t like it you can go back and redo. It worked for me with this game setup from September.

DaBears Major Leagues Join Date: Jun 2013 Posts: 469	Yes, I did have this issue. I ran recalc team finances and while they are not perfect, it is reasonable enough to likely not impact your game moving forward.
