The AI Still Cheats!
im ready to close my Mets thread.
I dont care what anyone or any of the developers say. THE AI CHEATS ITS A$$ OFF. yes, everyone im going to rant. My NYM were up 4-2 on the Nationals WAS had bases loaded and 2 outs in the top of the 8th inning. i bring in a pitcher to get the last out. a CATCHERS INTERFERENCE occurs, ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? allows the AI to score a run and continue the inning. then the next batter promptly hits a grand slam and my Mets lose the game. i was so angry i raged quit ctrl-alt-del, and didnt save the game. i know i shouldn't have done it but its okay. i lost the replay game anyway. THIS AI IS PROGRAMMED TO CHEAT WHEN YOU PLAY THE GAME OUTRIGHT. LUKASBERGER, you know i love this game, but darn it, prove me wrong. i want to see the game engine and the dice rolls for each at bat! : angry:: rant: and to all of you other OOTPers out there, dont worry, i will still continue to play this awesome game. but it makes no difference. THE AI AND THE GAME ENGINE IS A NO-GOOD BACKSTABBING CHEAT!!! oh yeah, Happy Father's Day!

In all fairness your post was extremely well written and you did it not only out of passion for the game but your willingness to share something personal of yourself as well.
My greatest frustration, perhaps not on the level you have shown deals with opposing teams having far too many rallies (at least it seems) when my pitcher is coasting with exactly no one on and two outs. It starts off, as in your case, with either catcher interference, an error, seemingly innocent things only to be giving up five or six runs before that third out. But that's a topic for another day, on another thread. I hope everyone here enjoys your post and responds towards you respectively. Last edited by Klaus 74; 06-18-2017 at 04:06 PM. |

I really don't know if the OP is serious or posting this in jest. Maybe if that were clear I would know how to react.

I've felt like that 2 seasons in a row. 1st time I fought my butt off to make playoffs. I tied for the final widcard with a team I beat all year. I lost 9-1 in wildcard. My team didn't show. This year I had the best team all year with 108 wins. Won the first playoff game and was destroyed in the next three. I was angry and depressed for a week. And I too questioned the AI cheating!!!!!!!

October 14, 2015 7th inning, Texas at Toronto ALDS, game 5 tied 2-2. If that happened in OOTP before RL would there have been posts?

That was an unbelievable example of self destruction. Not so bad to watch as a Jays fan. And you are correct. If that happened in an OOTP game, there would have been cries for re-programming the AI.

What about game 6 of the 2011 World Series? How many times did the Rangers have that series won, only to see David Freese and the Cardinals spoil their celebration?

Thanks Ty.
Oh how I wish I could remember the name of one certain book that I borrowed from the library some 40 years ago. In it was a playoff game and I think it involved the Phillies on the road. Bottom of the first inning the home club rallies to the point in which the starter is pulled. The pitcher went straight to the bar across the street, orders up, and watches the telecast of the game on the TV above the bartender. It is STILL the bottom of the first and the relief pitcher is also struggling. By the time the first inning was over the relief pitcher has joined the starter in the bar!!!! |

Idk if this was a joke but the AI does not cheat. This is a simulation, and anything can happen in a one game simulation. I've played too many wild card games in this game and I know that for a fact

So I'm guessing you WIN your wildcard, playoff games unlike myself and a few others who have been victims of AI cheating
