His stamina is in theory recovering well while DHing, always getting back to 100% when it's his turn in the rotation. But... the results are flat out terrible lol, his ERA is well above 7.00 and his OPS below 500... So probably he isn't hitting cos he is never at 100% rest while doing so? And he isn't pitching well cos, idk maybe he is still not rested although technically he is always at 100%?? Anybody else has some experiences to share? Wondering why this Otani topic isn't bigger here. |

Update:
I now bench him for 2 days after the day he is the SP, the 3rd day he is normally at slightly tired, results have been much better. An OPS over 900 and ERA around 3.80, for now it seems I'm onto smth there... below halftime DH and fulltime SP Last edited by geisterhome; 10-21-2017 at 03:13 PM. |

I'm playing OOTP 17 and a player just showed up in the draft who was originally listed as a right fielder, but he could also be a great starting pitcher. I haven't edited this player at all other than to change his position from right fielder to starting pitcher. I'm playing as a National League team without a DH.
If regular position players get tired from playing in the field for too many days in a row without a day off, I'm not sure how OOTP handles fatigue when pitchers are playing, but not pitching. Do you think OOTP really has two sets of fatigue: one for pitching and one for batters? If this is the case the two don't have anything to do with each other. Has anyone in OOTP ever used a regular position player who is not a great pitcher to pitch in a blow out game. Do you think you needed to rest that position player from by not using him as a position player in the next few games because of fatigue he acquired while pitching? What will happen to the rest status of the player if he is a starting pitcher one day and an outfielder the other 4 days? What if only pinch hits on the days he's not pitching? Does the percentage that he is tired from being a starting pitcher ever recover if he is playing as a batter everyday? Has anyone ever tried this with a 6 man starting rotation? How on earth do I attempt to develop this player in the minor leagues? |
