With no re-calc available then,I am guessing that The Babe comes in as a Pitcher and you will have to manually change him to a OFer at the appropriate time..... or you can just let him be a pitcher his whole career.

Or you could be responsible and put him at 1b (or better yet, DH), his defensive ratings are atrocious, I'd rather have Hanley Ramirez (2015) in center field than sim-Ruth in the outfield.

In my current game he's just an above average pitcher, nothing to make a fuss over. I could have let him develop a bit more as a pitcher, but that would mean not developing his bat, and that's still all-world.

In general though, I like not having the recalc, it lends some randomness and mystery. You know who's a HoF prospect when you look at the draft board, you already got a leg up on a possible bad scouting report.

have to agree the unknown part of it makes it a bit more fun/challenging... some of the standard star players perform as expected (or better), while other big names are just plain duds and some of the cup-o-coffee guys turn out to be studs.

started a historic league in 1871 with random rookies from all eras... I finished last in 1872 and nabbed the first draft pick and lucked out as Carl Hubbell was in that one. Thanks to the one pitcher rotation years of those early seasons, he turned out to be a monster (14 straight seasons of 20 wins or more, with a career best 41-16 in 1876. Just retired last year with a career mark of 401-265).

1880 I picked up some joe average guy late in the draft (Bob Sebra... real life career of 15-29 from 1985-1990). He stepped up to be my #2 starter and currently has 139 career wins and is now the top guy since Hubbell retired.

It's your challenge mode profile name. Since mine is "TuckerDuckson" (same as my fourm name) I would put (Remove the x):

Changes to:
