4-Day/5-Day Rotation

What is the purpose?

I'm using a 4-Day Rotation, and these guys are never exhausted or tired when it is their turn to pitch. Why should I carry a 5th Starter when 4 work fine?

Doesn't make sense...

I would assume the 5 man rotation is there for use since its the most common used in MLB since I would guess the late 70's. I use a 4 man and spot one of my MR as a 5th starter when/if needed. It would need to be in iOOTP since it is part of the real game. Good news is we can choose not to use it.

Along with rotation, are three options, realistic, strict, and best rested.

The last two seem obvious. However, how does "realistic" work?

pretty normally really. It tries to follow 1-5, but if there are off days and some of the better guys are fully rested they will pitch them instead.
