Holy crap, I think I just found the greatest player of all-time..

*I'll start off by saying this player was NOT edited in any way, whatsoever.

Sorry for starting another thread, but I just HAD to share this with everyone. The wife and I are on holidays, so just for fun I created a fictional league that started in 1950 and set it to simulate to 2016, leaving automatic league evolution on, just to see where and how the league ends up. Just something I sometimes like to do for fun. Then glance over league history - look at dynasties, legends etc..

Anyways, I started with 24 clubs and tried to mimic real life baseball history by automatically adjusting league strategy, financial settings, league totals modifiers, and using accurate player creation modifiers based on the correct years. The only change I really made, was using the default/modern player origins right from the creation of the league.

So I set it to sim, and decided to stop it in 1996 just to see how the league is going - check out expansions and relocations, look at current records etc.. I decide to go to historical leaderboards, and something catches my eye. Tiburcio Suggia is the all-time leader in home runs with....1055!. I thought there's no way that could be right, but I went to his player profile..and low and behold..

7 Triple Crowns
14 MVP's (5x 2nd place in voting)
21 All-Star appearances
20 Silver Sluggers
3 WBA Championship Rings
3 WBA Championship MVP's
5 additional Playoff Series MVP's
53 Batter of the Month awards
64 Player of the Week awards

This is absolute insanity. At least compared to anything I've ever personally seen in OOTP. I swear, this player was NOT edited in any way.

He was also ridiculously reliable when it came to health. Barely missed any time in his entire career. His biggest injury was a sprained thumb that kept him out a week.

He HAD to have been on the juice..right? Never got caught - no suspensions at all in his history..but c'mon, look at those totals.

72 HR with a .412 average as a 23-year old? Yeah, I guess that's alright...

I've never seen anything like it lol

It has to be assumed it was roids right? I mean, 20+ year career and was never caught, but 1,000 home runs is ridiculous.

My guess is that a few of the voters wrote him off, doubting that he was clean.

Pretty sure I'm re-naming the MVP award, the Tiburcio Suggia award. Doesn't have a good ring to it, but with a legend like that it would be fitting.

I'm thinking of printing out his player page, just in case I ever lose the save file (hopefully not, but you never know). This is a once in a lifetime player, and no matter how many league histories I sim, not sure I'll ever see that level of excellence again.

What's everyone thinking? Legitimate greatness? Or steroids?

The only player in my league history that beats your player's war is HOF Brendan Bennett.

But what is impressive is the amount of All-Star presence and awards!! HR number too. I hope one day I'll have a player like yours. 60 seasons and still waiting for it

I'm guessing evolution added some offense, but still, that's awesome!

edit: I stand... er... confused. Nothing really strange in the rest of the leaders. Wow.

Not evolution. I only left that on for relocations and expansions.

And damn, that Bennett guy is a beast as well!

And to think I still have Suggia's 1959 Rookie of the Year card. Guess I'll put it in my OOTP valuable memorabilia folder.

Wow. That is certainly impressive and probably a combination of various rare circumstances. I suppose he was created with great ratings to begin with, but then got a few more talent boost (which are increasingly rare the better you already are) which turned him into that monster. Holy crap.

The only edit that would have been fun was to rename him Sluggia.
